Ch. 9 - Root Problems
"So you went quietly from home to find out who did the harm to your sister?"
"Yes, Teacher. Don't know why, when the attack that day I felt the culprit wasn't alone. As I recall there were two others who were dressed the same. They're like looking for something in our place."
Xin Chen said for sure, focusing on finding a way to climb, suddenly a snake came attacking him.
Xin Chen's response was too slow, he could not avoid the snake's benchmark, resulting in his already injured leg having to be exposed to poison.
The boy's scream made the Thunder Fox turn his head, the demon stuck the stick he was using to disguise itself onto the ground while revealing a face that did not care. "Don't whine with just a small wound, just complaining like that won't make your wound heal. Move on and look for medicinal plants around here."
Xin Chen was anxious to cry, indeed he was still unfamiliar with the outside world. During his life Xin Chen had trained the most in the courtyard of the house, no one allowed him to go far away from home except for hunting.
When he went hunting, the one who usually defeated wild beasts was Xin Zhan, while he was just waiting behind until it was safe.
"Teacher.it's too hard, at least help me stand-up" Xin Chen blinked his eyes, almost unable to believe the Thunder Fox had already left him just like that. "Teacher! Wait for me!"
But not a few snores of himself walking Xin Chen began to realize where they were walking, a snake nest plastered clearly in front there with dozens of snakes passing by. It almost made Xin Chen out of breath.
The Lightning Fox itself did not care, if he wanted to, by expelling his stealth energy the snakes would disperse instantly.
No animal would dare to approach him. It was just that the Lightning Fox was now in disguise, unleashing such power was likely to provoke the suspicions of the humans.
Shouts after shouts rang out behind him, after taking a deep breath the Thunder Fox finally turned its head there and found Xin Chen trying to climb a tree. Beneath him the vipers were climbing about to peck him.
"Arghh! Mommy!!!"
"Haish, this kid. It is not just his body that needs to be trained. The mentality is so too." A small grunt faintly rang out, the Lightning Fox raised its staff which this time let out a surge of electrical energy then snatched the snake in front of it. Make them instantly charred like dust.
The Lightning Fox said, "Now you can come down."
Xin Chen heaved a sigh of relief, a little embarrassed at the Lightning Fox as he shouted too loudly earlier. After all Xin Chen was confident the Lightning Fox would definitely compare herself to her Father.
"It seems like I don't deserve to be your student, you must have noticed it first." Xin Chen expressed his concern. There was only silence between the two of them. The silence of the Lightning Fox could mean that he was not worthy of studying with the Lightning Fox who was in reality an Earth Ruler Demon.
"I don't know where Master is going, but during the journey I don't want to trouble you either."
"For the sake of human beings your age you are among those who are not firm. You were the one who asked to be my student and now you've changed your mind."
After saying so the Lightning Fox paused for a moment, staring intently at Xin Chen's eyeballs with great emphasis. "You're not going to be anything with that kind of nature. If you have chosen you have to live it, do not in the middle of the road stop and choose to escape. Pathetic."
Xin Chen looked down deeply, he made a mistake again. It was just that he himself was not good at the Lightning Fox.
The throbbing in his leg started to feel back, wanting Xin Chen to scream in pain as the snake venom in his leg started to inflict excruciating pain. "Then... Can I ask you to train me hard? I promise I won't complain."
The Lightning Fox patted his shoulder slowly. "Don't promise not to complain. Promise not to give up."
"Good."
"Is your wound really okay?"
"I can still hold it, maybe around here there are plants that can neutralize the venom of this snake." Xin Chen's answer seemed to add a heavy burden until finally the Lightning Fox instantly treated his legs with the strength he had.
"Waiting until we find it will probably take hours, you must have passed out before you got it."
Hearing the boy chuckle, he saw for himself miraculously the power of the Lightning Fox healed his wound to nothing. The boy watched his legs happily. "Alright, thanks. With this I can continue the quest to find the antidote to the poison and take back the Blue Gem of Light!"
"You sure about that?"
"Why?"
Suddenly the wind howled, making the robe that the Thunder Fox wore wave swept away in the wind. It was as if giving a hidden cue but Xin Chen did not know about it. "Have forgotten it," said the Thunder Fox severing the conversation. There was a pause for a moment and Xin Chen finally let out a sound back.
"Teacher, where do you think we should go to find that person?"
"You think?" The Lightning Fox turned the question around.
"Finding his identity first, isn't it?"
"By way?"
Seen Xin Chen thought for a long time, between hesitation did not hesitate to answer him. "Maybe... Meet the information seller?"
The Lightning Fox replied later. "It would not hurt to find out first the information regarding the enemy, but I'm actually a little suspicious of the perpetrator who stole your Blue Light Gem. Did he just take it for sale or have some other purpose?"
Xin Chen thought for a moment, "When he picked it up he said he was indeed eyeing Father's Blue Jewel of Light..."
"Slightly starting to get a little bit of this problem to start connecting with, maybe your problem has something to do with the strange aura that's popping up lately."
"really? How did you know that?"
The Lightning Fox turned her body around with much more serious eyes, "For that reason I intervened. I'm asking you, have you ever seen your father's blood-red book?"
"The red book of blood...? Forbidden Book? I've seen him once and before I could touch him Daddy was mad at me."
This time the Lightning Fox somewhat muttered, "In the Book it is the source of the problem, it is possible that my guess was wrong but there is still the possibility that it is that which has brought about the concentration of evil energy lately."
Xin Chen ruffled his hair, completely clueless as to what the Lightning Fox spoke and was eager for him to explain in a more understandable language. I don't know what the demon was swirling about either he didn't understand.
"This thing I shouldn't have told your father first, you must be confused by what I'm talking about, right?"
The child heaved a sigh of relief, the Lightning Fox finally understood. The Lightning Fox herself told him to sit under a shady tree that was over a hundred years old.
