"What about the Lightning Fox?"
Xin Chen turned Shui's attention away, his facial features not showing the slightest hope.
"I hope you find the gem in time."
"Is there something you're not telling me?" Xin Chen glared at Shui's eyes suspiciously, sure enough his prejudice was on target.
"Maybe the Lightning God will draw this power from the Lightning Fox. If that time came, he did not have any strength to help his consciousness stay awake. He will die completely. Want to any way you save her."
Xin Chen lowered his head, clenching his hands slowly. Shui could only pay attention to it without saying a word.
"Ye Long," call Xin Chen. The dragon appeared while yawning widely. "Eat?"
Ye Long had just found out Shui was inside the lake, he hissed in danger. But acting strange, like feeling a tiger was lurking beside him and when he saw it turned out to be just a grasshopper.
"Did you see me like that?"
"You really are a Water Dragon? Your power is not even greater than a thousand-year-old demon."
"It's a human being, you idiot."
Ye Long turned his attention to Xin Chen who had just called out to him. "You called me?"
"Leave with Senior Bai for a few months."
Ye Long looked at Shui and Xin Chen in turn. His eyes looked puzzled, before long he shook his head in disagreement.
"I go wherever the master goes."
"I probably won't give you food for two more months."
Ye Long shook his head twice.
"Whatever." Ye Long had heard it from Xin Chen's subconscious, about his planned departure to the Qing Empire.
"They need you."
"I don't need them," Ye Long replied more stubbornly.
Shui laughed softly, "Freely you told him this. If it sticks, don't expect him to let you go."
"But promise not to bring yourself up. We're gonna be in danger. You hear Ye Long?"
The dragon simply tilted its ears, chewing on the grass that glittered by the daylight sunlight.
"Huh, Ye Long! Stop chewing it, you drop the pride of a dragon!"
"My stomach is hungry." Now Ye Long entered the forest, intending to find food. Not ten meters away he had returned to Xin Chen's place.
"There are so many people."
"Hm? You scared? Want to get back to my dimension? That way you don't have to meet people anymore."
"No need!"
Ye Long looked at Xin Chen who was shorter than him. "Give me time to get some food. After that I won't be out unless you tell me to."
Xin Chen was actually about to offer him some food but Ye Long had already left first. It didn't last long Tian Xi came. His breathing was intermittent, he was about to speak immediately but what sounded was only an indistinct mutter.
"Aish, this blue fish. Young Master, we have a guest from Fanlu City. He carried a letter signed directly by Xin Zhan's First Pillar. Come with me."
"Fuck."
"You just soak like a fish there."
"I'm not a fish, I'm a nag—"
Tian Xi glanced back, just as Xin Chen closed Shui's mouth. He wanted to ask what was the matter yet Xin Chen's face was so sinister.
*
The meeting was held in a closed room, two people were already waiting in front of a small table. Some tea was served on it, Xin Chen just remembered that he had allowed a female healer and assassin from the small headquarters of the Four Surveillance Units to join them. The woman turned out to be the one who made the beautiful paintings in this place. And there are some medicines that he is making, although it is still in the process of making. Tian Xi also placed hope on the woman. While the Assassins who came with him had become medium-level warriors. He joined Bai Huang.
The back door was tightly shut while only Tian Xi stood guard outside the door. Don't let anyone eavesdrop on this conversation.
Xin Chen sat staring at the two adult men who had opened their face coverings. This is done so that no one recognizes their identity. The two people themselves could not see Xin Chen's face that was covered by the hood of the robe. One took a breath, and then said slowly.
"We have collected some pertinent information. But we don't think this information is very useful to you."
He placed a gold jewelry that was kept well in the folds of gold-colored cloth.
"One of our spies has returned from the Qing empire. Sorry to say it too late. The spy said the owner of the object was an ordinary noblewoman who had no history of any crime. Just a small influential family. Her husband was part of the mayor's subordinate. And from the information we got, these jewels were made so long that it's hard to figure out where they're manufactured."
The two men bowed in apology. "That's all we can tell you."
Xin Chen thought further. If that thing had nothing to do with the Thunder Fox jewel thief, then he didn't know where else to look. Enemies are good at hiding their tracks. Even if Xin Chen returned to the cave, he was sure that he would find nothing else. Because he had almost checked it out. No trace or sign. There was no blood or other clues left.
"Then, try to find out about that noble lady. Did she ever lose this jewelry."
"Good, Sir."
The two people were saying goodbye, only slightly making small talk as they were also in a hurry. Soon the sun will set and they are afraid that traveling at night will meet with criminals.
After the two men left, Shui asked. Of course while whispering out of fear that the infuriating Tian Xi heard it.
"Hows it? Have you got a clue?"
"There's been no progress." Xin Chen looked up, saw a bird flying and stopped above his arm.
The bird was a messenger bird from Fanlu City. Xin Chen read the message inside.
In it Xin Zhan said that there was an unexpected movement of the Qing Empire. They moved faster than expected, and according to the estimation of their soldiers had grown to seventy thousand. Xin Chen was convinced that Bai Huang was attacked no more than three days ago and that they had now added twenty thousand members. In just three days.
"I think I should hurry."
He took out a flute, calling out to Ye Long who was flying fiercely from a distance. The dragon landed with its mouth still chewing on the body of the forest tiger.
"Let off now?"
"Yes. But to get there we need your speed."
Ye Long looked at Shui who was smiling meaningfully. The dragon growled while flapping its wings.
"Rargh! Have that weird hair fly by itself!"
