The Demon Swordsman 2

The Demon Swordsman 2
Ch. 232 - Lost

"I still have 140 people in good health. They can work here, and all the treasures in this place I've gathered with them in the cellar. Just waiting for the master's order to start operating in this place."

"Hi? We don't celebrate this victory? That's right!" Nan Ran scratched his ear, while Lan Zhuxian gathered towards them. Holding slowly.

"I've collected all the bodies. Some of the remaining items and information we can get. This group still had small branches in the Shang Empire. But not so dangerous, we've taken over their biggest group."

Lan Zhuxian handed Feng Guzu's robe, Xin Chen accepted it and raised it high.

"The Four Surveillance Units are now ours!"

Shouting in unison as if in the air, warriors gathered and all new members had formed. Without them noticing the sun starting to appear in the eastern horizon, the exhausting days passed by. Xin Chen took a deep breath. He left the crowd and headed for a quieter place. Realizing his body had been hit by an incision wound before using a spirit form.

"Young Master, are you okay?" Lao Zi the archer asked, he was the only one who saw during Xin Chen's fight against the thirty-plus main forces of the Four Surveillance Units. He knew full well who his current master was and was willing to give up his job on Emperor Qin which was even a much bigger payday than being a mayor.

"I'll go after this."

Lao Zi fell silent, "But haven't we only been here for a while? And we just went to war. You need to rest. Plus the situation is not stable."

Xin Chen raised his face, the cold wind touching his white cheeks. His feeling worsened when he saw the cloudy sky, whether it had anything to do with the fox he was so eager to meet.

The Lightning Fox did not want to see her again, Shui said. It bothered Xin Chen's mind a few times. What happened to the fox that he refused to show himself? Xin Chen felt his biggest mistake was to leave everyone behind when things were going bad. He can't understand anything at the moment.

'I threw away too much that day. Ye Long, the Lightning Fox, my family, my friends ... And to my own inner self, Lao Zi did not understand what the young man was thinking. He was so sad just from looking at the overcast sky. The weather is exactly like the war.

"Lao Zi, I entrust peace here to you. There are three people from the Qing Empire who are with us. I brought four of you who are from the Shang Empire. Do not let any dispute happen. I'll probably be gone long."

"But, Young Master-! What if something like war happens here?"

"My friend named Shui and also the former Third Imperial Pillar. They'll be your protectors while I'm not around."

"That shui, he's from the Empire where are you? What noble family? Maybe he's part of ..." Lao Zi was afraid to say that they were a plot with that cunning noble. Honestly, the reason for leaving the palace was because of the behavior of those who liked to fight sheep. Lao Zi never calmed down, even people whose identities were kept secret seemed to have gotten into trouble with them as well.

Lao Zi himself was the grandson of a former Imperial Pillar loyal to the Empire. She could not believe Shui just like that, even more so when she first followed Xin Chen, she saw that among the troops was a child from the city lord named Dong Ye. Somehow temper that person later on, let alone without Xin Chen. There were many things that made the young man worried.

"Shui was my friend from a long time ago, we knew many years ago. And he's not from any noble family."

Lao Zi remained unconvinced, she had already seen for herself how Shui fought. He was not good at holding swords or martial arts. There was nothing to gain from that strange young man.

Lao Zi didn't want to deny it anymore, he agreed. "I'll watch until Young Master returns. It seemed like the person named Lan Zhuxian could be trusted. But, I hope tonight Young Master is willing to stay to celebrate our victory."

Xin Chen gave a small nod, before finally a figure of youth ran cheerfully towards him.

Shui approached the two young men, looking at the familiar Lao Zi in his eyes. The archers also fought from a distance as they fought. His deadly shot had killed at least five people from the other side.

"Your name, who?"

"Lao Zi, Mr. Shui. Sorry to introduce yourself, nice to meet you."

"Oh ... Hey, Chen. Hows it? We've already won. Now what?" Shui shifted the subject.

Lao Zi furrowed her brows as Shui did not wear the frills of Young Master, or the second Young Master Xin. As the son of a respected family in the Shang Empire, Shui's call sounded very disrespectful. Lao Zi did not dare to tell, nor did she know anything about Shui. The young man gave permission by reasoning there were some things he had to do. Then leave Shui and Xin Chen.

"Master Fox, the last time you saw him on the sea off Fanlu City?"

"What are you going to do?" Shui clicked his tongue three times, dizzy. "You've been asked not to see him. Perhaps, he would show himself when the matter was over."

"What if he needs me?"

"Needing humans, you say?" Shui subconsciously said it, the conversation began to get serious.

"I am only human. But if it's about my teacher, I'll do everything to see him. Even if it should be hated by him ... I just want to make sure it's okay."

Shui was sorry, "Chen, I'm sorry. But, I only panic if you leave this place. The rest of them will take over, you know for yourself aren't they very strong?"

"For that I'm asking you to stay here, it might take a long time. Later that night we'll discuss everything. Make sure you get together with us."

Shui seemed to disagree, he wanted to interrupt back but Xin Chen's face seemed to not accept rejection. He had no problem being left behind in the Valley of the Gods, but about meeting the Lightning Fox. Shui had already promised the fox not to let Xin Chen meet him.

"You can't see him, Chen."

"Why?" Xin Chen's tone changed, Shui wasn't much different.

"He's gonna hate you more, you never listen to him. That's what made him leave you."

Xin Chen was silent, looking into Shui's eyes which were still hiding something. Those words right pierced him, he was unable to think clearly anymore. It might be true that it was her fault, but Xin Chen realized Shui was lying.

The anger that had originally mastered it only lasted a few seconds, Xin Chen made a sound.

"I just feel like I'm losing her."

Xin Chen continued inwardly. 'I know he's not okay. And you hid all that from me.'
