"Why do you know that today's anniversary Dad's with Mom?" za asked as Fadhil asked her to prepare for Za's parents' house.
"See from their marriage book. Time register to KUA," said Fadhil.
That detail Fadhil noticed. Even still had time to remember things that Za herself might not remember. His parents never celebrated his birthday. Let alone an anniversary, their birthday is almost never celebrated. Za remembers the last time she celebrated her birthday at the age of 17 with her schoolmates.
"Are you ready?" tanya Fadhil saw that Za had finished putting on the hijab.
"It." Za smiled showing her appearance. Long dress collections that are rarely used. After becoming the wife of Fadhil Za more often wear dresses. It's not what, first if you ride a motorcycle and have to wear a dress, too complicated for him. So Za wears trousers more often.
"New clothes?" Fadhil inquired about the black dress that fits so well combined with a patterned brown hijab.
"No. It's three or four years' worth of clothes."
Fadhil took a slow breath. "It's like you haven't bought a shirt since you were Mas's wife."
"The old one is still good. I used to shop a lot even if I didn't need it, Mom. Just stacking in the closet. Now my mother has changed her mindset. Buy it if you need it. Money is being raised to buy land. Build a rich hostel Om Irsyad."
An upset Fadhil was heard. "But clothes are one of the sustenance that Mas must fulfill, Za."
"Yes, yeah. I'll buy a new shirt tomorrow. No need to squash. So leave, right?"
"Yes so. It's all set up time off."
I don't know what surprises Fadhil will prepare for his parents. Za still doesn't know. Although curious, but Fadhil only said a secret and he was asked to follow all his plans.
Za holds Alif. While the bag containing baby equipment was carried by Fadhil to the car. After having a baby they can't leave with a little stuff. Especially just the wallet. One large bag containing clothes, diapers and even milk and baby bottles become mandatory items that must be carried.
"We're going to Oma's house, Al." Fadhil rubbed Alif's head slowly before driving forward. It was Alif's first time traveling after a week of living with his new family.
On the way, Fadhil stops his vehicle at a cake shop. Za didn't even know if she had ordered the cake. The big tart cake was placed in the back seat.
"The same father Mother never celebrated their anniversary, you know, Mas," said Za when they returned to paving
"Then what's the problem? We just want to give them a little attention. Let them be happy because their children care. Because you're the only child and I took it. They must be lonely."
Za didn't say. A few more meters they will enter the housing complex where Za lived before becoming Fadhil's wife.
The house looked quiet when they came. But the gate wasn't locked. Za prepared the cake and took it. Because Fadhil asked for it. While Alif was seen in his father's arms.
Their arrival was truly a surprise. Because I didn't tell you first. Especially by bringing Alif who is only two weeks old.
"Happy birthday, Father, Mother," exclaimed Za who made both parents surprised.
"You…. I just forgot that today is my marriage date with Mom," said Za's mother.
"Thank you, baby," he said, hugging Za.
"Oh, yeah. There's a gift from Za, Dad, Mom," Fadhil said. Za frowned. How could he not prepare a gift for his parents. But Fadhil says so.
"Before a while, we look ahead" said the husband again.
Out of curiosity, Za follows Fadhil forward. Not taking something in the car. Instead he pointed to a black city car that stopped behind Fadhil's car.
"Well, Mom. This is a gift from Za to Dad and Mom," said Fadhil.
The two old men looked at each other. With an expression of disbelief.
"It's Mas Fadhil who bought it, not Za" Za denied.
"Just the same," said Fadhil.
While Za's mother's father was still silent. Look at the child and his daughter-in-law.
"It's too much, Son Fadhil. You treated our son so well that was more than enough" Za's father later said.
"But to me it's not enough, Dad. Even this gift is nothing compared to Father Mother's sacrifice for my wife" Fadhil replied.
"It's our duty as parents,"
"Yes, Dad. But I should be grateful for that. So please accept, Dad."
Za's father seemed to be sighing softly. His gratitude was immeasurably met with such a good daughter-in-law.
"Yes. I accept," he said later.
Even just the receipt of the gift made Fadhil smile. He accompanied his father-in-law to a handover with the dealer who delivered the car.
Meanwhile, Za who was now carrying Alif rubbed her mother's back which was completely unable to hold back her tears of joy.
"Why is your husband so good, Za? Thank you for this endless happiness, Za."
Za smile. "Za should be thanking Mom. Because of the fear of Mother marrying Za to Mas Fadhil," he said.
After tasting the cake she brought, Za left Alif to her mother. Today he has an appointment with the doctor.
Like the hopes of Fadhil and his parents are still so big, Za also wants to try his best to realize their wishes. Also wishes. Nothing is impossible in this world.
"Don't delay Alif a little big first. Later if it succeeds already thought about the risk?" ask Za's mother.
"The new one wants a consultation. Pray for us, Mom."
"Always the best for you" said Za's mother.
