The Midnight Radio

The Midnight Radio
Episode 65's

"Teh Rebel, can you take the broadcast off the water for a minute?" teh Opi asked the figure sitting right in front of me. With a smile, Teh Rebel nodded and bid us farewell to head to one of the studio rooms. Kang Saija allows broadcasters to participate in the broadcast process. Curiously, I, Gia, Adu and a few other fellow announcers stood up and followed the Opi Tea waving at us.

My heart wondered as it watched Rebel Tea walk and stop right in front of the studio door that Bang Win used to use. His hand gently rubbed the door that was still closed before pushing it slowly.

Arriving inside, Teh Rebel looked around and touched almost everything in front of her eyes. "This is the studio where Nday died after working tirelessly. Sometimes we both stay here. This building belonged to Nday's parents who were given to him."

We all looked at him in silence. After the Opi Tea checked all the equipment, it called out the Rebel Tea. "Teh, this is for inspiring broadcasts of listeners. Opi wants the history of Radio Rebel, yes, Tea?"

Rebel tea just nodded and put on its headphone.

"Hello the Rebel guys wherever they are. Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh, Opi came back to inspire the friends of all the stories of the fall and wake of our speakers in the afternoon today.

The establishment of Radio Rebel cannot be separated from the hard work of its builders. And luckily, one of the people who played a role in the founding of Radio Rebel has been present with us. Regina Maharani Rahman or commonly known as Rebel Tea."

"Assalamualaikum temen-tenemen all," said Rebel Tea.

"Without many people who know, Rebel Tea was one of the early founders, the founding of our favorite radio, initially how did Tea?"

Zvz! Zvz! Zvz!

Opi Tea frowned because of the sudden noise. All of us who were present looked at each other.

" ...𝙍𝙚𝙗𝙚𝙡 ...."

I don't know where that sound came from. But I can see clearly if the face of Rebel Tea instantly changes. He breathed a few times before opening his voice.

"Hi Nday's...."

All of us present glanced at each other. I found their faces paled.

"𝙆𝙚𝙣𝙖𝙥𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙧𝙪 𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙜?"

"sorry. Sorry for just coming. Sorry for daring to come here again. Sorry, because it took so long to recuperate," Teh Rebel replied in a raucous voice.

"𝙈𝙖𝙖𝙛 𝙪𝙙𝙖𝙝 𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣 𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙪 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙧𝙞."

"Ngga anything. Although at first I was angry, because you didn't make a promise. But in the end I was able to hold on, Nday." Rebel tea lowered his head slowly as he rubbed his cheeks.

"Teh Inoxu," call Adul. I looked up and opened my headphone. "That's in front of Rebel Tea, in an empty chair, there's another sitting. Short hair women, wear glasses with red jackets," said Adul Lirih.

I felt a grip on my hand that turned out to be Gia.

"Yes. It's the Rebel Tea tea that made this radio."

I took a deep breath before putting on the headphones again.

"𝙈𝙖𝙠𝙖𝙨𝙞 𝘽𝙚𝙡, 𝙪𝙙𝙖𝙝 𝙗𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙠𝙪 𝙟𝙖𝙙𝙞 𝙣𝙮𝙖𝙩𝙖. 𝙒𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙥𝙪𝙣 𝙖𝙠𝙪 𝙣𝙜𝙜𝙖 𝙗𝙞𝙨𝙖 𝙞𝙠𝙪𝙩 𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙞𝙡 𝙗𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙖𝙢𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙠𝙖𝙡𝙞. 𝘼𝙠𝙪 𝙗𝙖𝙝𝙖𝙜𝙞𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙩 𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙪 𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙖𝙨𝙞𝙡, 𝘽𝙚𝙡."

"You're happy, keep me? Wiggling this radio hurt me, Nday. Because of this radio you're finally gone forever. I want to hate it, but I can't! Because this is proof of your struggle. Evidence of your struggle in the middle of illness, evidence of your struggle in the midst of the scorn of your own family. Pain Nday...."

"𝙈𝙖𝙖𝙛 𝘽𝙚𝙡... 𝙈𝙖𝙖𝙛 𝙪𝙙𝙖𝙝 𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙜𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙣 𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙪 𝙙𝙖𝙣 𝙗𝙞𝙠𝙞𝙣 𝙠𝙖𝙢𝙪 𝙣𝙜𝙚𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙣 𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙪𝙖𝙣𝙮𝙖... 𝙈𝙖𝙖𝙛𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙠𝙪..."

"Nday Sickness... Be ill... Even after a long time, this pain was still there. I want it to go back to the old days. If I knew it would finally get you to leave, for God's sake, I would be desperately trying to master your plan!" Rebel tea covered her face with both palms and sobbed.

"𝙈𝙖𝙖𝙛𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙠𝙪, 𝘽𝙚𝙡 ...."

Zvz! Zvz! Zvz!

Nguyoung!

All of us except Rebel Tea simultaneously removed the headphones we were wearing because of the deafening buzzing sound. It took a few seconds until the sound of the buzzing swallowed and disappeared.

"I'm still heartbroken just by hearing Rebel's name. That's why I don't like it when people say that name. But in the end, Nday won. The name is often spoken by broadcasters in every broadcast program," said Teh Rebel.

We all stood in front of the reception desk, as Rebel Tea would fare home.

"But seeing the many friends here who do not directly realize Nday's dream, I am happy. This radio is it? After this I will return to the city where I live, and probably won't be here again for a long time. I will focus on my writing career. Please take good care of Radio Rebelnya," he continued to close the conversation before greeting us all one by one.

We all nodded slowly and let him go with a wave of hands.

"See you later on next time! Assalamualaikum" cried Rebel Tea before his figure disappeared into a car that stopped right in front of the entrance of Radio Rebel.

"Sad huh?" timpal Gia is still waving. I just nodded before Adul grabbed my arm.

"Tea, it's Nday Tea on the back again of the drugs to Rebel Tea" he whispered.

"Sshhh, justin aja," I cut quickly and saw the car carrying Rebel Tea turn on the highway before finally disappearing from sight.
