THE RECORD: From Behind The Camera, He Keeps Watching
CHAPTER 26: The Disappointment

“Rose? What's up?”

Delilah's voice roused me from shock. I didn't answer. My breath is uncontrollable. Either because of the strong smell of formalin or because my heart is still beating.

Like the lanterns that hang to beautify the scenery, the head of the buffalo is hung just like a rope. Dangled up to three meters above the head.

A crazy sight. Whoever did it was definitely an insane person.

“You okay?” I don't know since when Noah and Isaac were around to help me wake up. I again could not find the words to answer. It was as if my tongue had been swallowed in shock.

“Hey, that's there! What happened?” Behind the rock Ethan asked curiously.

“We'd better cancel the plan.”

I looked at Noah. “What?” It's not me asking. Ethan's back there starting to get noisy by constantly throwing questions.

“Wait a minute don't come here,” Noah told the others.

Perhaps the young man could see me staring at him in protest, he looked at me fixedly before turning off the earpiece of his and mine. Prevent others from hearing our conversation. “You see for yourself a lot of awkwardness here,” press the young man in a low tone referring to what we are seeing now.

“The buffalo heads were there for a reason!” continued panicked. His thick eyebrows linked into one. Maybe this is the first time I've seen him this expressive.

As if not satisfied to make me sure, Noah again added. “And I'm sure it's not something good.”

I stared at Noah's iris like the sea in turn. I may not be a micro-expression expert who can read the slightest possibility of someone's mimicry. Just like her pupils, her eyes feel threatened.

The eyes that I have always admired shine full of secrets. Not just the anxiety and fear he was trying to convey here, but there was something else he didn't tell me. Something that made it the biggest reason why he had vehemently rejected this plan from the beginning until now.

Though he knew why I insisted on doing this and what he did only made me plunge back into what oppressed me. Back to my abusive father.

I'm upset.

Disappointed at once.

With no regard for it, I grabbed the camera from Noah's backpack without saying anything while the young man looked at me in confusion.

“What are you doing?”

Instead of answering, I turned the earpiece back on after snatching it from Noah and tried to connect the audio with Max's monitor.

“Halo Max. You hear me?” I said I ignored Noah.

“Yes, Rose. Wh why? You guys find anything there?” Max quickly replied.

Maybe the young man knew what I was going to do, Noah immediately threw his face away with a breath of air and walked away from me. I know he thinks I'm crazy.

Screw it's. Do I care?

Haha.

No. gabe.

No more.

“Connect my camera with HEWO. We will start live again,” my word while looking at Noah defiantly. The young man looked at me with a disappointed look. I tried as much as possible to bury my guilt deeply.

“I understand,” sahut Max. I turned on my phone to check the platform page. It didn't take me a minute, so I got back in touch.

For a moment, I kept the camera and fixed my facial features before putting on an enthusiastic face and talking in front of the camera.

“Guys, earlier, I told you that we will be back with you guys here once we get to school. Butno. There's something you should see here.” I pointed the camera forward slowly for the audience to see clearly the crazy scenery we found.

The lens highlights the focus on the dozens of buffalo heads hanging from the top of the tree.

“How? Isn't this crazy? What do you think the villagers did by decapitating the buffalo and hanging it here?” I try to attract the attention of the audience.

“What? What head?” behind us, Ethan and Delila are getting noisily curious.

“You don't want to see this.” Isaac silently replied.

Max's voice suddenly sounded. “Rose, Radolphy gives 20 cowboy hats!” My friend exclaimed suddenly reporting enthusiastically. I grinned more and more satisfied.

“We don't know what it is, do we? Could be ...” My lens magnified until one of the buffalo heads that was sticking out his tongue filled the monitor screen.

“Can it be if this ... is an offering to the devil?”

I don't know. I didn't know what I was saying until I was almost blown away by my own words. Devil, I say?

Ck. Are their tastes always this low? Why don't they ask for wagyu or anything other than buffalo heads.

“Good job Rose, the audience is getting enthusiastic! Two executives have joined!"

Before I could get more satisfied with Max's words, Ethan and Delilah behind us cried out in panic.

“Sh**sh***sh***someone is coming!”

“Village residents! There are villagers!”

I lowered the camera in surprise. “What?!”

Noah broke his face violently as if cursing in silence. Isaac approached the door of the road in panic. “Guys, get in here! Hurry on! Don't let them see you!”

I was silent as if my muscles were frozen in panic. *n. If we get caught doing live and spreading what we found here, I don't know what they're gonna do to us.

We waited tensely, again my heart went through uncontrollably. My palms are wet with sweat. While my breath began to hunt waiting for the arrival of our other friend from the door of the road.

Ethan with a low made voice sounds the most ruffled by saying “Go go go go!” repeatedly impatient. While the sound of panicked breathing women accompanied him. Whether it's Izzy or Delilah I'm not sure.

Faintly, from behind the earpiece, a foreign voice sounded from a distance.

“Hey! Who's there?”

My lenses jerked. They see? The villagers saw!

“Go go go! C'mon fast! Fast!”

“Oh my God! Oh my God!”

“Guys–”

The voices of the three of them overlapped simultaneously. The stabbing is getting closer. The sound of footsteps is in front of the eyes. Pretty soon. Just a few more steps. Comeon!

“Come on, Guys,” whispered Isaac expectantly.

From a meter in front I saw Delilah who was scattered with a panicked face leaving the narrow streets wide. They come. Five more steps.

Isaac reached out to grab Delilah's arm. While the voice of the villagers back there sounded closer than the earpiece.

“There is someone who entered the rubanah,” said the villagers in a low tone when it will be anxiety. “Come we check.”

Another sound of steps came closer.

Getting close.

Delilah and the others were seen in plain sight. Two steps were taken. One more step and …

Be able.

Isaac pulled with a powerful pull making them stagger a few steps forward. Exactly where dozens of buffalo heads are clearly displayed in the eyes.

The girl almost screamed if Isaac did not shut his mouth and pulled Delilah into hiding.

We managed to get away from the door by running behind a slightly indented stone wall. Before long, two men and women we didn't know came out of there. Tracing the crazy scenery in front of them with a probing look.

I shut my mouth tight. Worried that my hunting breath could reach their ears. My heart was pounding more and more as I peeked over from there. My frontal position meant that I had to submerge myself even more into the cold stone walls.

“Nothing.”

“But I saw something that came in here.”

They were silent for a moment, still believing someone had invaded whatever the name of this crazy place.

“It's probably a cat. Let's go" chirped the woman.

Their conversation was heard in tones with our heart and breath sounds that I tried not to blow too hard.

Footsteps that stepped on dry leaves were heard approaching the door of the road, one of them leaving but the man was still not satisfied proving his suspicions. He's still in place. Spreading his eyes all over like a good detective.

Before the man suddenly turned his head, I suddenly turned my head back after peeking.

And now he's walking towards me. Steps are taken slowly. Three more steps …

One …

He's getting closer.

Two …

One more step.

Three …

"Hey! I found something!"

He's stopped. The end of his shoes was less than half a meter away from me. The woman's voice stopped her before she caught us.

"What did you find?" Shouted the man and walked away until the sound of his footsteps disappeared at the door of the road.

We're silent.

Sweat floods the back. The hunting breath gradually normalizes even though the heart is still beating chaotically.

Before suddenly, Noah exclaimed in a low tone in panic. His eyes wandered all over.

Staring intently at Ethan and Delilah with a demanding look.

"Where's Izzy?"
