THE RECORD: From Behind The Camera, He Keeps Watching
CHAPTER 13: D-2 (Part 1)

The North Oakmont Senior Highschool page at night was enough to make the fur bristled without being asked.

From as far as the eye could see, the sprawling school building, was still visible several meters away in front. While the empty baseball field, as well as the entrance that breezed was filled with fog as high as the calf of adults. Thin clouds that carry water vapor even penetrate the wire fence installed around the field. Covering the ground with its freezing temperature. Not to mention the minimal lighting of the lamp posts that are left to blink losing power adds to the atmosphere is increasingly intimidating.

What a scene. I thought while swallowing.

Although my school is located in a densely populated metropolitan area, the rural that extends along the Mcknight Flyer road to Franklin Park, no doubt makes the path to the school feel quiet and dark. Even at night like now, only a few vehicles will go to or home from the city.

If I don't miscalculate, there are only two three vehicles that cross with us on the way here. Not to forget also the pine forest that grows towered around the back yard of the school peering from the cracks of the roof, making my school feel far from the settlement.

We're down in front of the gate. I bowed my thanks to the driver who drove us. The man nodded back and ran the car back until it was lost behind the turn.

My eyes were wandering around, normally, there would be Hunch and Ben–a standby guard security inside the post room, but this time the post looked completely uninhabited. Even the doors and windows were locked. I frowned looking at Primrose's face reflected by the cell phone's light. The girl was busy typing something. I turned my eyes back in another direction. Looking for someone who will stop us.

“Why is there no security?” mummify slowly.

Perhaps the cold temperatures make the air resonance more sensitive. Primrose, who was opening his phone, said. “You think, we're going to permission on Hunch to do this? That’s not a genius thought, Crawford.”

Also true.

I ignored the insinuation and asked back. “Then? Where are they now?”

Primrose gave me a panted look. “Of course patrol! It's one in the morning. Hunch is on break and Ben is in Killington. Monitoring security there I guess.”

I don't know where this streamer girl knows about that schedule and everything. I choose not to ask.

“Hunch will return to post at three o'clock. We only have two hours to broadcast. Before he gets back, we should've gotten out of here. Comein. The kids are waiting there,” explained Primrose while putting his phone in a jeans pocket.

I said nothing more and chose to follow Rose who walked in splitting the fog.

...***...

Justright.

The broadcast room was unlocked once we got there. The room was still dark, but the whispering sounds of chatter sounded faint from outside.

Rose opened the door. The four people looked at him simultaneously as soon as we entered.

“You were so old.” I don't know who's talking because my vision is limited, but from his voice I know it's Isaac Petterson.

Rose pressed down on the flashlight and pointed it at Isaac who instantly raised a protest hand as his vision was blinded by the light. “You're so noisy Petterson, nobody invited you anyway. Why are you here, huh?” sahut Rose as he walked into the broadcasting room. We all followed him.

Ethan presses the switch and instantly a dim light fills the retina.

“Where Noah is, I have to come,” said Isaac who apparently intended to connect the conversation with a witty tone while draping his arm on Noah's shoulder. While the coldest Primrose dwarf was only able to surrender.

Hearing that, Ethan is pumping.

“You're dating, right? Confess!” he laughed with Delilah.

For a moment the broadcasting room was a little noisy as if we had forgotten that this room had not been obliterated. But suddenly Isaac's embrace came off as Noah approached me.

His footsteps rang as he approached me and now stood looming before me. Our contrasting height made my head look up. I blinked confusedly staring at Noah's pair of flaming Malibu staring at me with a sharp look.

This was the first time the super cold young man had started an interaction with me. Surely this was a very sudden time for Noah to start a conversation. I could even feel a quiet atmosphere and everyone stared at us in confusion in turn.

“Izzy. Let me ask you one more time,” he said in a firm tone.

I waited for him to speak again. “When you start here, you won't be able to stop. They'll keep chasing you and suing you. This is your chance to step back before we introduce you to live streaming. Are you sure you'll continue?”

Noah's voice saying a long sentence in one breath was the only one heard in the room.

Silent.

Maybe this is also the first time they've seen Noah talk to me at length. Until seconds passed, none of them stopped the silence. I gulped and stared back at his eyes a little longer. Looking for answers as to why Noah suddenly acted this way.

In the end I nodded. “Ya.”

Noah did not react. The young man who was as tall as Isaac was, did not also stay away nor did he say anything. He was still staring at my eyeballs alternately as if there was something he was trying to convey through his gaze. But I'm not a micro-expert of expressions that can carry a person's gestures.

Nah!

The sound that the button pressed out sounded breaking the silence. We turned simultaneously towards the mixing console located at the front of a glass that separates the broadcast space with the control room. Primrose stood there staring at us. While his finger had just set the audio volume, it circulated the sound so as not to be heard from outside.

Primrose's sharp eyes nailed to Noah's pair of Malibu. For a moment they spoke through the gaze. I felt a sudden awkwardness coming out from both of their bodies.

“Another ten minutes we start. Prepare yourself,” said Primrose at last disconnect their gaze. Make the awkwardness end.

Ethan and Deliliah coughed nervously and I busied myself with my equipment.

Noah slowly approached Rose and before long they were busy setting up the camera and***** the whimper needed to live in silence.

By Isaac …

He's standing behind me.

Even though I couldn't see it, I could feel its gaze on my back there.
