THE RECORD: From Behind The Camera, He Keeps Watching
CHAPTER 10: Residual Energy

“ ... but their revenge, can.”

As soon as I say it …

Primrose stunned.

He lost his confidence for a moment.

“Human nature is complex.” With hesitation I continued. I'm scared, but I don't intend to stop.

“We .. we never know when their souls are out of their bodies, whatever they leave behind. What dreams do they want to go to. What feelings do they have? All of these emotions are intangible, but the world around them records the emotion in its smallest form, an energy. Residual energy.”

I stared at Primrose and Delilah in turn. The two of them were still staring at me as if what I just said was something new to them.

“M-they were originally human just like us. We never know what kind of energy they put out when death comes. Strong emotions and deep trauma are the most influential ones leaving a trail of energy on the objects around them. The entity that absorbs. Or, how much energy they leave until it can harm someone–”

“Mmfth–”

I stopped talking as the sound of a retained laughter rang out from Primrose's mouth. The girl covered her mouth with a comforting laugh. Behind him Delilah stepped forward towards me. My hair is slit and tucked behind my ears. Then the girl made the sign of the cross in front of her chest.

“In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, Amin,” he said in a mocking tone. Primrose was getting more and more up in place.

They're playing me. They don't believe what I'm saying. I choose to be quiet.

“What are you talking about, Crawford?” asked Primrose with the rest of her laughter– humbled me. But I didn't answer. Everything that I have explained throughout anything will only be considered the past wind. Free.

“You sound like a shaman.” The girl hooked up with a shitty expression.

“I didn't know you talked much. I thought you were mute,” said Delilah behind him insulting me further and further.

Primrose approaching. Tied his face with me. We stared for a while.

“I wonder where you know that what we're going to do is going to get a lot of money. But okay, that's not important to me. I concur. Fifty percent. As long as you don't spread anything, to anyone about what we're going to do.”

I cringe. “Aren't we .. going to do it on Moutube?”

I shut up for a moment to think. There's something Primrose has hidden.

But I don't have any choice. This is a dead end. I could not have accepted his offer and chose to work part-time to pay off the debt. But it will take a very long time while the tempo set by Lawrenceville is nearing its date.

Although I was a little worried. This is the Woodstock highschool we're talking about. A place that has been eliminated is on the map. A place with a dark history. A place that has wiped out all its inhabitants.

Primrose doesn't know anything he's going to face.

Even if I explained it, he wouldn't listen to me.

“But Izzy, after a second thought, fifty percent is a lot. So you have to do some other things for me to be fair.” Primrose returned to speak in a annoying tone.

“What ... should I do?”

“First, you have to figure out how we're gonna sneak out of Killington to get to Woodstock. Second, you're gonna have to do some little interviews about the Pittsburgh crash. I don't care if you're lying about it or whatever, but that's for sure ..” The girl hung up the sentence.

“Create an interesting story. You know how, right?”

I sighed before nodding obediently.

“Good. Last.” The blonde girl in front of me got up to our height again out of alignment. I looked up at her face from the chair.

“One more month we're leaving and I hope you're mentally prepared. Because ...”

That pair of sharp glares looked at me with a sly look. One of his eyebrows was raised, he grinned wider.

“I want you to read Vesta Hestia.”
