THE RECORD: From Behind The Camera, He Keeps Watching
CHAPTER 21: The Day

“Within a hundred meters, turn right onto 275 Church Hill street. Rd.”

The sound of the Googly map was the only thing that broke the silence in the car. The decitan of the occasional wiper fused together with the thunderous roar of lightning out there. The weather suddenly darkened as the voice of the googly robot said that our destination was just another kilometer away. Shortly after, the clouds began to spill in sobbing cries. Flushed the earth unforgivingly until the visibility of our car blurred instantly.

Thirty minutes ago, Max woke us all up from a deep sleep. His voice sounded confused with lips that occasionally clucked in annoyance. While both eyes did not stop looking right and left with his body sitting upright–quench his vision.

The tension Max put out was apparently contagious, making our drowsiness fade swept away.

“No settlements here.” Max suddenly reported making us all peek out the window. Justright. As far as the eye could see there were only trees and bushes that were now swaying in the wind. The fog started to descend rapidly blocking the vision.

“Is this the right way?” Delilah who was sitting in the middle seat asked and immediately took over Max's phone to check it out.

“It's the right way. But why are there no signs of life ahead?” connect Delilah astonished while continuing to enlarge the screen looking at the map.

I bit my fidgety lips. Not because of fear of circumstances that would allow us to get lost, but a familiar feeling suddenly possessed me like a frozen wind. The memories of the past come back like whips. Forcing me to go back to that time.

With this I know that we are not lost.

I'm already home.

“L-continue. Soon we arrive,” I said making everyone look at me simultaneously.

“Where did you know?” ask Ethan.

Delilah flicked her finger as if remembering something. “Ah! Why did I forget! You're from Woodstock, aren't you? Rose, you're the one who told me about him why just shut up?” delilah Protest. Rose did not respond to anything and instead played her phone.

I sighed looking at the passive Primrose since last night. That was behaving like never before.

“Wah, how can anyone live in the interior like this? They won't know if there's a zombie virus attacking, ” funny Ethan who is trying to melt the atmosphere. None of us let go of laughter.

Time has shown four in the morning. We should have been up to two hours ago but the rain stopped us for almost two hours for the sake of suffering. Max who doesn't talk much keeps driving with focus until finally …

“You have arrived at your destination. Your destination is on the left.” Max's phone in Delilah's hand was back. Suddenly, we all turned to the direction Goggly mentioned.

A footpath that is wide only enough to pass one car is our main focus. While the fence of the elongated sweet plants reach the original installed wood. It looks pretty traditional in the modern world. Although it looked small and unkempt, the road was made of asphalt and it was safe enough for us to pass through without slipping or worse the tyre stuck in the mud.

“Is this really the road to the village?” ask Ethan. With a broken move I nodded. The couple also clucked in annoyance. Maybe they can guess what kind of place they will meet by looking at the state of the road.

“Come on, Max. The sun is almost up, we should not be seen by the villagers.” After staying still for quite a while, Rose finally spoke. Maybe this is the first sentence that the girl spoke during our trip.

Maybe Rose remembers what I said about Woodstock. In addition to Woodstock Highschool being removed from the map, the locals also buried the existence of the school deeply. Especially after the incident one year ago when a streamer and two other people were found at the school. So, as much as possible our arrival should not be known the meaning.

Perhaps because our surroundings were vines that almost touched the glass, the air became very heavy as if the middle space was narrowed. Especially when the Googly sura surprised us in silence.

“Some are blocking the way. Please turn the direction.”

We all extended our necks to check the front of the road. Only the fog and the narrow streets were empty. Our car was the only vehicle that split the road. Whereas in front of us the light from the floodlights only illuminated the street about forty percent.

“What is meant by fog?” ethan's great-grandson. But again no one answered. Because we all know the answer is no.

“Forward, what are you really worried about? You yourself see nothing in front,” press Rose full of emotions.

“Just turn off the phone. After all, there are already paving the way,” continued Primrose with a subtle insinuation. Max had no choice but to. Delilah took out the Googly tab from Max's phone and returned it to its owner.

Before a minute later …

“Some are blocking the way. Please turn the direction.”

Max's car stopped in a jolt as we watched Googly's voice from Max's phone.

“A-I turned it off just now,” great-grandson Delilah gave an explanation.

A bad feeling suddenly infiltrated. We checked the front road again. It was just a dark road as far as the eye could see.

Again, there's nothing there.

This time Primrose did not say anything more. From back here, I saw him bite his nails nervously. We were all silent and no one made a decision.

I glanced at Noah who had not made a sound earlier. As soon as I turned my head, the young man acted as if he was caught looking at something before looking at me nervously.

I turned my gaze away as if I didn't see it that way.

It was as if I hadn't seen him looking at Isaac beside me.

As if I didn't know that they were communicating through a silent gaze.
