Forced to Marry My Maid's Son

Forced to Marry My Maid's Son
Early Mobile Ringing Day

“Thank you.”

Two words kept ringing in Akhyar's head. The word for the first time came from Andina's mouth and was addressed to her. His tone did sound flat, but somehow Akhyar felt there was pride in getting the two words. Maybe if spoken from someone else's mouth, it will feel ordinary. However , this is Andina, the woman who always behaves arrogantly in front of Akhyar. Which when they accidentally cross paths on the street always gives a condescending look.

To get that thank you, there are sacrifices to be made. Not only was his hand injured, it could have been his life that disappeared while making that foolish decision.

Not the pain that appeared on Akhyar's face. The corner of his lips was even raised upwards, forming a thin smile that he himself was perplexed when he regained consciousness.

Akhyar. He grimaced when he saw the bandage in his hand. The activity can be disrupted because of it.

Akhyar then laid down his body on the bed. In his head again appeared the incident earlier. What a terrible thing a hopeful person can do. He did not know if Miko and the woman had spoken to each other about the marriage. If so, Miko shouldn't have messed up at the party. Or, they've spoken, but Miko is still adamant?

The shadow of Sania's face appeared on Akhyar's head. He hoped that the woman would have accepted their separation. Anyway, he's a nobody. He's just a maid who can't guarantee Sania's life.

Having not had time to eat anything earlier at the party, Akhyar ordered food through an online application. He also ordered the same meal for Andina. The food was delivered after reaching Andina's room. They eat each.

After eating, Akhyar opened the laptop. He knows his career will not be too long at the White Lotus Hotel. However, he can take this opportunity to learn many things so that when looking for another job later he is better prepared.

Akhyar continued to work until late. Even for dinner, he was looking for information on the internet.

Finally, he closed the laptop when the clock showed almost one in the morning. He laid down his body, ready for sleep.

It was not until an hour after Akhyar closed his eyes that the door of his room was knocked by someone. His forehead shriveled, hearing the knocking getting louder and tighter.

Akhyar got off the bed while clucking.

“What's up?” Akhyar turned to the wall clock in his room. “It's almost two o'clock, loh. I just went to bed.”

“I cravings. I want to eat capcai?”

Akhyar's eyes widened. “Capcai? At a time like this?”

Simultaneously, the sound of lightning interrupted the conversation of the two. The next second, it rained heavily.

“You see for yourself? Outside of heavy rain. And my hand is also now in this condition. There's no way I'm out to buy capcai.” Akhyar showed her hand wrapped in bandages.

Hearing the sound of rain getting thicker, Akhyar remembered the time he bought martabak to meet ‘ngidam’ Andina. The martabak was only eaten a piece by Andina. In fact, he had struggled to buy it until the rain.

“If you can't, yes already.” Andina turned around with a sour face.

Again the unbearable nature of Akhyar appeared. He grabbed Andina's hand, then pulled the woman into the kitchen.

“Sit,” he said, pointing the table there.

Akhyar opened the refrigerator. There are carrots, mustard greens, and broccoli. It is far from fresh, but can still be used.

Akhyar took the knife, from the basin. Put everything he took in front of Andina.

“You cut the vegetables, I will prepare another ingredient.”

“What? I've never cut vegetables.” Andina pushed the basin away.

“There is always the first time to do so. You just choose, want to fulfill your cravings or hold it. The decision is in your hands.”

Andina's eyebrows were almost intertwined. “Unfortunately you can cook capcai?”

“If it's just capcai, it's a simple matter. I often see Mom cooking it.”

“Yes, I like the capcai made by Bu Nani.”

Forced Andina according. He wanted to eat a capcai. Imagining a serving of capcai, making his saliva almost drip.

Akhyar took some kitchen herbs and placed them in a basin. As he was about to ask Andina to peel onions and clean other kitchen spices, he gawked when he saw the vegetables that Andina cut.

“What's this like the way you cut it?”

“What's the reason?” Andina asked with a plain face.

“See, dong. It's too big. Have you ever seen a capcai with a piece of broccoli this big?”

“That doesn't know. I think it's pretty small.”

Akhyar let out a rough breath. “Cut two more of everything you've cut. Carrots too. It's too thick. Iris again. Keep peeling this onion.”

Andina's forehead shriveled. “Why should I do all this?”

“Because you are craving, not me. Don't ask too many questions. Just do what I tell you.”

Akhyar then sat down. He watched Andina cut back on the broccoli.

“Oh yes, how about the men at the party?” Akhyar restarted the conversation so that the atmosphere was not awkward. “Name Miko, ‘kan?”

“Kak Miko? They agreed to reconcile.”

“Peace?” Akhyar raised his hand. “Don't I have to be there if I want to make peace? I'm the victim.”

Andina glanced at Akhyar's hand as she continued to chop the broccoli. “It's your own fault. I told you, Brother Miko asked for my help. You're the one who took the initiative to do that stupid thing. Oh yes, if you want to start a debate about this like last afternoon, we better end this conversation.”

Almost the same sentence as last day was spoken from his mouth. Fortunately, he could still hold back that sentence.

“Then, the Miko was willing to accept the current situation? I mean, sure he won't do anything weird again?”

Andina mengedik's. “It's none of my business. Monica said, they've signed the agreement. Brother Miko must keep her distance.”

Akhyar pointed at the uncut carrot.  “Again, I didn't think what he expected by doing that? He hopes they'll be back together?”

“Do not origin speak. You don't just know how to fill someone else's heart. You yourself see what Sania did, ‘kan? He accidentally nudged me in the supermarket yesterday. Just pray he will not do reckless like Kak Miko.”

“No way Sania could do that. She's a woman who attaches great importance to her pride.”

Andina's laughter almost came off. “If it has been blinded by the name of love, many forget their own pride.”

Instantly, Andina's hand stopped cutting the carrots. He felt the words he spoke slap himself. He was also not concerned about his pride in front of Ronald. His life was left to the man.

Andina's phone is ringing. The atmosphere of the apartment was quiet, making the ringing of his cellphone sound from room to kitchen. He stood up to get his phone out of the room.

“I'm the one who took it. You continue to cut.” Akhyar replaced Andina into the woman's room.

The number that calls is a new number. Akhyar handed the phone to Andina without asking anything.

“Who is this?” murmured Andina. He shifted the green button.

“Halo, Din.”

Andina's blood rippled. The voice that greeted him was very familiar. The voice he longed for and he expected his presence in this very moment.
