Oh Arunika

Oh Arunika
Chapter 17

Juna left shortly after Aru apologized to Bu Ranti because the food he cooked was not good.

“Juna. Where are you going?” Everyone seated at the rectangular dining table simultaneously focused on the only male there, who was there, the one two seconds ago suddenly shifted his chair backwards and got up to his feet.

“I want to go to the room, Mom,” answered flatly then turned to his wife who was sitting next to him, looking at him questioningly also confused. “Do you still want to eat?”

Instead of directly answering, Nadia turned to her in-laws who were currently also looking at her, “Em, yes, I still want to eat. Why?” askalanya.

“Iya already if you still want to eat. I'm going to room.”

“Juna! Finish your food first!” ma Ranti's orders in a firm voice. He even stood up to point to his son's plate which was still filled with rice complete with side dishes. From the form of food that is almost intact, it can be estimated to only be eaten a few mouthfuls.

Juna who had turned the direction had to face his mother again. “I don't have a taste for eating anymore, Mom!” he shouted with a snapping voice. Afterwards Juna let out a long sigh in order to loosen his chest that looked crowded. “I have complied with my mother's desire to go to the doctor again, stay here until I leave my job. So now, please, don't force me to finish that meal too, Miss.”

After saying so, Juna sauntered away leaving his mother flabbergasted and seemed to still want to argue with her. Since childhood he has been taught to always spend food on his plate, as a form of gratitude to the Creator for still being fed.

But behold, not only did he not finish his meal, the only child of Bu Ranti just went away by leaving his disrespect to the person who still lives at the dinner table, especially to his mother.

Bu Ranti gulped or rather swallowed a sense of disappointment with her son's attitude. He sat back down and continued eating what might have felt like a thorn.

“Why only viewed?”

Mother's rebuke resuscitates Aru. “Genesis at the dinner table earlier, it was because Aru cuisine is not tasty, ‘kan, Bu?” tanyanya mute still staring at the food on the plate.

“Do not think. Ms. Ranti and her son are in trouble right now. Wash the dishes immediately let us quickly rest.”

Arunika nodded but did not immediately do the orders of her mother. He approached the mother who was covering the vegetable salad with plastic food wrapper.

“Bu, how can you cook good food? Is there a recipe or a secret, ma'am?” After so many years born from his mother's womb, only this time Aru thought to ask that.

Instead of directly answering, Ms. Nita instead chuckled at hearing it, “There are no recipes or secrets. You are just-nothing.” The laughter of Bu Nita still sounded in Aru's ears.

Aru was relieved to see Mom laughing so. Means Mom's condition isn't as severe as she thought. Mother's cough has not been heard since. Maybe he was too much to worry about Mom's situation.

“Mother cooks just like everyone else, wear kitchen seasoning sold in the market.” It turns out that Mother answered Aru's curiosity. “Only, when cooking we have to do it with love, do not just ripen and lifted. In our hearts we must be tucked in determination, whoever will eat our cooking later, hopefully that person will like it.

Not only cooking, whatever we do if done with love, sincerity and good purpose, then the results will satisfy our own.”
