Michaela let Arka hold her until Arka felt enough. At least, that's what Michaela can do for Arka.
However, Arka had helped him after what had happened to him.
"Did he hurt you often?"
Suddenly the question broke the silence between them. Arka's voice seemed a little raucous and felt that Arka also felt the pain of Michaela.
"I've been a vent of her emotions and desires after she's married."
Michaela's answer was enough to make Arka's hand embrace Michaela's body even tighter.
"Why didn't you leave him? Do you love him so much?"
Arka again raised her face to look at Michaela with a sad look.
Slowly Michaela shook her head. "I've been shutting down my feelings for a long time."
Arka smiled and stroked Michaela's cheek. "Then allow me to occupy an empty place in your heart."
Mikaela looked at Arka while being silent for a moment. "Your sister was just like you. Chasing until I finally gave up and fell in love, but then, everything changed. How can I be sure if I open my heart, you won't do the same. You're brothers, right? You have the same blood."
"I'm not my brother. You'll be the first and last for me."
Mikaela chuckled as she broke away from Arka's embrace. He walked slowly towards the kitchen. "Your brother said the same thing, and you see what's happening now, right?"
Arka. He indeed could not make Michaela confident with just his words. After what Michaela experienced, there was no way Michaela could trust someone so easily.
"How about we get married? Is that not enough to prove that I'm serious and not like my brother?"
Arka stepped closer and hugged Michaela from behind. "You've agreed to marry me, and you're still wearing the ring." Arka then turned Michaela's body to face her. "You have hope that I can free you from the Lord's brother, right? Though small, I will take that opportunity to fill your heart, Micah."
Michaela looked towards Arka. His logic and heart are at war.
What Arka said is true. Part of him hoped that all the promises of Arka would come true, but some could not believe those words out of fear. Afraid that once Arka had grown up, she would find someone more attractive and leave Michaela.
"I know that my words are hard for you to believe, especially because of my age, right?"
"You've only known me for a few months, Arka. What makes you sure to marry me."
I've known you my whole life, Micah.
The truth has not been revealed yet. He did not want Michaela to think that what Arka was doing was in return, not purely because of the feelings that Arka had been craving for so long.
"The words of love are cliche, but they are reality. The feeling I have, makes me so selfish to want to make you mine. Is that wrong? Even if I have to achieve it by forcing you, I can do it."
"You didn't give me the freedom to choose?"
"You have the freedom to choose when I'm not present, and now, I'll choose."
"It's not love, Arka. You're obsessed."
"Maybe it's true. I don't give a shit. Isn't it better? Obsession makes me look only at you. Like you said, love can change at any time, but obsession? Doesn't that hold up?"
"You're really crazy, Arka." Mikaela shook her head. Not out of thought with the way of the mind of a man who does not also give up.
"So, do you want to marry this crazy guy?" With no surrender Arka kept asking Michaela to marry him.
"You're aware of my condition, right? The past and what is happening now?" Michaela tries to find out if Arka really knows what she's up against.
"If it's like this, all your adult attitudes are gone for a moment." Michaela shook her head again and this time added a smile - which made Arka fall in love with Michaela even more.
"That means you got the full package. If you need a grown man who looks after you, I can. And if you want to feel young again, I can."
Mikaela's smile instantly disappeared, and a look of horror turned to Arka.
"Young said? How old do you think I am now?"
"I'm kidding, I'm." Arka immediately pulled Michaela into her arms. He did not want to lose this moment. The moment where Michaela behaved as she was and did not limit herself.
Perhaps for Michaela, Arka was only a child who could not be used as a life support, but Arka wanted to prove that age was not the only measure that made a person mature and could protect him.
"Arka, let me go." Michaela tried to push Arka.
"Not until you promise not to change your mind."
"Come, Arka. Don't be like a child."
"I was a little girl."
"And you said you were getting married?"
"My shortcomings are only in age, right? I have a brilliant brain, a brilliant future, a stunning face, and I'm dead love to you too."
Michaela immediately rolled her eyeballs hearing all of Arka's words praising herself.
"Ah one more! Do not doubt my might. At this young age, you can take advantage of me as long as you want," Arka could be right in Michaela's ears.
"Yahoooo!!!!" Michaela tried to wriggle back for Arka to release her.
"Ma-sorry. Excuse me. I'm just trying to tell you the value of marrying me." Arka laughed, but reluctantly let go of Michaela. "I'm serious, Micah. Give me a chance to make you happy. Even if you reject me now, I will continue to interrupt your life until you are fed up and finally give up. So, wouldn't you rather give up now?"
He really had no intention of giving up. There must be something wrong with his head. Am I that attractive?
* Don't be crazy Michaela! You remember who you are and what has happened in your life. There's no way that he really loves you! There must be some intent behind all of that.*
There are still good people who can really love you, Michaela. Maybe Arka is the one. Why don't you give him a chance?
Oi! Don't be stupid! A dream figure like Arka that only lives in a fairy tale. There's no way he's willing to accept all the past you've got without any meaning.
Comeon! Not all humans are evil. Julian's good too, right? To this day, he has always protected you. Give him a chance. He looks sincere.
Michaela's heart and logic continued to fight.
"All right!"
That one word was enough to make Michaela stop her inner debate. But the word that came out of Michaela's mouth was received differently by Arka
"All right? So, you agree? I'm really happy!!"
"Eh?"
Michaela had not yet explained the misunderstanding, Arka had already jumped up in joy and Michaela was not up to the heart to stop her.
After all, in the end Michaela decided to try to give Arka a chance. And he hopes his decision is not wrong.
