Arka stepped confidently towards the teacher's room while slipping her hand inside her gray trouser pouch. He followed in the footsteps of a teacher who caught him smacking another student.
His fist was slightly bruised. How not? He hit the student in the face hard enough that the student's nose was bleeding.
The student ends up in the treatment room and Arka has to face her homeroom teacher who will probably give her punishment.
“Log.” The man's teacher opened the door and another teacher was sitting behind his desk.
“Mikhaela, I found this student hitting his friend behind the school.”
Arka immediately turned her head towards the teacher who called out and spoke to Michaela in such a familiar way. Arka doesn't like it.
Michaela stood up and let Arka sit, while Julian, the teacher who had taken her, stood a few steps behind Arka. Just in case Arka did anything to Michaela.
Arka sat down without hesitation or fear of what might await her. A punishment.
He looked at Michaela who was wearing a salem shirt that day with a bonding accent on the collar that made her look sweet. Thin makeup with colored lipstick in line with his shirt, making Arka feel like wanting to feel the softness of the lips and immediately have it.
“Arka?” Mikaela looked at Arka trying to remember the name of the new kid who had just arrived this morning in her class.
Arka's delusion came to a halt when she heard her name in a soft voice that she had not heard for a long time.
“Betul, Mom. I'm glad you didn't forget my name.” Arka smiled.
They met this morning when Arka was introduced as a new kid who moved in from abroad. Many wonder why Arka actually returned to Jakarta after previously studying since childhood abroad.
“Why did you hit your friend? Are you guys at odds about something?” michela asked while looking at Arka's hand on her desk. Visible bruises.
“I just don't like it,” replied Arka origin while showing her injured hand. “Can Mom treat my hand?”
Arka could see that there was a trace of worry when Michaela saw Arka's fist.
Michaela ignored Arka's words. Choose to go back to discussing what Arka has done.
“You can't just hit anyone just because you don't like it. What's the reason you don't like it?”
“She saw the woman I like.” Arka stared intently at Michaela which made Michaela feel uneasy. Arka's view confirms who the woman she refers to, but of course only Arka can understand.
“Just because he saw the woman you like? Did he see it in an impolite way? But, still, what you do cannot be justified.”
“I don't regret it. He deserves it.” Arka remained in his stance.
“This is your first day. Do you want all your friends to stay away from you because they're afraid of you? Try to be friendly with others. Don't hit people haphazardly.”
“I only hit people who disturb my scenery.”
Michaela took a deep breath and advanced her sitting position. He catches that there is no point in arguing with Arka. The one facing him was a stubborn young man who seemed to be in love.
“This time, I won't punish you, but I hope you will apologize to your friend. If you don't like what he does, you can reprimand him instead of hitting him.”
Kirana tries another way by giving Arka the option to reconcile.
“If I am not ready?”
Arka looked closely at Michaela. Whatever Michaela asked Arka to fulfill, including apologizing to the boy who had dared to look at Michaela for more than five seconds as Michaela headed to the teacher's room earlier.
Luckily the boy only got one hit and immediately collapsed. Otherwise, Arka would have dealt an additional blow to him.
“Alright! I will obey what Mom asks. I'll apologize to the boy. But, if he's looking for a return, I don't hesitate to hit him again. And I make sure he won't be able to stand again.”
Michaela again sighed. It seemed, the new kid who was in his tutelage would give it hard days. It is seen that Arka has a dissident character that is not easy to deal with.
“You can go now. Please take care of your attitude. I don't want you to get in trouble because of your attitude at school.”
Arka stood up and turned around. Although he wanted to look at Michaela longer, Arka chose to obey and went to apologize.
When Arka reached the doorway, Julian, the teacher who had led her, opened the door for her.
Arka looked at Julian sharply as if she did not like his presence in that space.
When Julian wanted to close the door and stay inside along with Michaela, Arka turned around. “Do you not want to take me to make sure that I really apologize to the boy?”
Of course Arka didn't want Julian to be alone with Michaela in the room. Someone who only looked at Michaela had upset Arka, let alone another man who was in one room alone with Michaela.
“Juls, I'm asking for help to make sure Arka really apologizes, huh?” pinta Micahaela.
The juls? And that familiar call immediately set off an alarm in Arka's head that the man standing not far from her was one of the people she should be wary of.
Julian nodded and closed the door.
“OK, Michaela. I'll deliver it. Wait for me before you go home, huh?”
Waiting for him to come home? Do they always come home together?
Arka wondered in her heart. He didn't like that conversation.
And with a nod of Michaela's head agreeing to it, Arka grew hotter. He did not like to see the closeness between Julian and Michaela
“Are Father and Mother Mikaela dating?”
Arka immediately asked Julian as they walked out of the teacher room. Arka does not like to guess. When he needs an answer, he will immediately ask.
Julian frowned. He did not expect that a new child would ask so clearly.
“Father, it's none of your business. You should think about your values and behavior, not the teachers here.”
“It would be my business if you blocked my step.”
Julian caught a threat in the sentence Arka said.
“Distracting your steps? Shortly “ Julian pulled Arka's shoulder and stopped his steps. “Are you ..” Julian turned towards the teacher room door that was still visible.
Arka just smiled as she stepped back. Leaving Julian with a riddle that began to dwell in his head.
