PTI CHAPTER 27 - September
"September" murmured Ara as she opened Zester's apartment unit. "Why is he using the same password?"
Upon opening the door and entering, Ara again saw the bare-chested Zester.
"Is he not cold?" gerutu Ara walked towards the man.
Ara stopped and stood up while shaking her waist in front of Zester. "It's past business hours, why did you call me?"
"Have you eaten?" ask Zester without a load. "I suddenly want instant noodles!"
"You can't make instant noodles?" asked Ara huffed because it was a trivial matter.
"I can, it's just that I want to eat at the supermarket so let's go downstairs!" bring Zester.
Indeed on the ground floor of the apartment building there is a supermarket that is open twenty-four hours and there is equipped with a table to eat on the spot.
Finally they both go down with makeshift looks, Ara who wears a set of hello kitty pajamas and Zester who only wears t-shirts and shorts.
Ara brewed two cups of instant noodles, she also bought bottled drinks and some snacks as a complement.
After finishing paying with Zester's card, the girl comes to her impromptu boss at a table.
"It's still hot" said Ara as she put down the tray she was carrying.
Zester takes one cup noodle and stirring it to reduce the heat. "When I was at Harvard, I used to eat instant noodles like this!"
"It turns out that the master director was also once a commoner, too" Ara commented.
He remembered his last words in the car.
"For what I said before, I'm sorry for comparing your relationship with my parents" Ara said later.
"Why are you sorry? It's only natural that people who used to live straight like you are surprised to see my complicated relationship," responded Zester who did not dispute it.
Ara smiled as Zester's mood seemed to be starting to improve.
They were silent for a moment as they enjoyed their respective instant noodles.
Despite the responsibility, Ara had already entered Zester's life so he would scrape all the information about the man.
"What happened in September? Why do you always use the moon as a password?" continued Ara.
"That's..." Zester stopped his noodle feed before replying. "September was the first month I met Riri!"
"You're romantic enough but why avoid it? You have to show your love, who knows Riri can make your snake stick out" Ara replied.
"I'm not sure," Zester hesitated. And this is not love as Ara talks about.
That night, after eating instant noodles from the supermarket they both went to a playground near the apartment.
There the two ate ice cream while sitting on a swing.
"That September was the month where my daddy died, my mommy was so devastated ever since, every September she would always get drunk and cry all night in the room, when I was 17 years old and going to school abroad I asked my mommy for a vacation to Bali so that September of that year became a different September," Zester began to open up and tell stories.
"But it was September that year that I almost lost my life because I almost drowned and died. At that time I made a plea to God to be given a chance to live once again, whoever helped me at that time if it was a man I would make him a friend and if it was a woman if she was single I would make her a wife" he continued.
Zester goes back to eating his ice cream while recalling a September that he cannot forget. "Who would have thought that helping me was little Riri so from that day on, I kept my promise to make Riri my wife!"
Ara just fell silent on hearing Zester's story.
"September, Bali, drowning?" muttered Ara who immediately remembered something.
"Don't..."
