A Good Decision

After Marini's departure, Usfi went to the kitchen and several other rooms to find Gani and Azam to inform him of Anwar's wife's change that would take good care of Maisha's children. He only hoped that Marini's desire was not because of Anwar's threat but, because of his own self-awareness.

Usfi had already said what he should have said without needing to interfere further, especially now that he already had his own family with Gani.

She asks Sholeh and Ima about her husband's whereabouts, but, the two old men don't know.

“Who was the guest, Fi?” asked Sholeh who sat beside Ima while closing the Qur’an which he had just read with his wife.

Usfi approached and sat at the side, hugging his father's hand.

“She Marini, his wife Mas Anwar,” says Usfi flat, “She asked about Mbak Mai's children and their favorite food.”

“Loh, why is he asking about it with you, Fi?” ask Ima.

After chatting with her parents Usfi continued looking for her husband. Apparently, two men who are now his family, were near the tilapia fish pond. They were sitting looking at the fish swimming while enjoying the food spread by Azam on the surface of the water.

Not only was it Gani, there making a video call with a woman who appeared on the phone screen talking to Azam full of tenderness. Uafi suspected that the woman was the ex-wife of her husband or the biological mother of Azam.

Usfi walked up to them from a direction not caught by the camera, of course his sudden appearance, made Gani surprised and misbehaved. He smiled at his wife.

Before long, he finished the video call after saying his greetings and praying kindness to the woman who looked pale on the phone screen. Azam is seen waving at his mother without smiling, then, back playing the wood in the pool water.

“So, we both met the ex, do you want revenge on me, Bang?” ask Usfi after Gani keeps the phone in her pants pocket.

Usfi was pleased that Gani valued her position as a wife, who was asked for approval before she made a decision. Is not the wife not just a companion but, she is a partner and also a lover, so, it is natural that a woman who is legitimately standing on the side of a man should be appreciated.

“So, can I go there?”
