Chapter 64: Cooperation

Black got off the building and joined Brown. The two of them were again busy with the tentacles.

"Black, where's Red?" Ask Brown.

Black did not answer even he did not turn his head. Feeling neglected, Brown asked while shouting.

"BLACK'S! WHEREABOUTS

"DON'T ASK!!!" Brown was shocked to hear Black's voice.

While fighting, he glanced towards Black who was behind him. Black's back shook and his shoulders went up and down. From there Brown could have guessed that Red also did not survive.

"I'm sorry" Black said as he turned toward Brown. Her tears that wet her cheeks.

Brown jumped to the side while cutting off the tentacles that were about to attack Black. Then he patted Black on the shoulder while smiling gently.

"It's okay" replied Brown.

"Your woof!" Rugel's barking resuscitated the two of them. It was Rugel who was busy dealing with the tentacles alone.

Black chuckled, "Sorry to let you deal with them alone, Rugel."

The two of them went back to fighting with the tentacles. While on top, The Skeld was still trying to dodge Riot. The two of them decide to hold on until The Skeld can deliver their crew plane.

But suddenly, the ground shook again and the Impostor that swallowed Red appeared again on the surface. Black looked at the Impostor hatefully and really wanted to kill him.

Impostor's body was convulsing and his mouth was wide open. He spewed out something that fell not far in front of those two Crewmates.

The set of tentacles in front of them stepped aside, revealing the thing that the Impostor had spewed out.

Black and Brown were shocked. Although it was covered in mucus, they knew that it was Red. But none of them approached him. They're worried that Red's infected. Although they're actually happy because Red is still alive.

Red's body moved, making the two of them alert. Red stood up with great difficulty, like a zombie rising from a grave. He looked at them.

Tentacles emerged from his back, making their bodies both weak from knowing Red was infected. Even Rugel put his tail between his legs.

Red's stomach opened and revealed a sharp tongue that moved rapidly towards Black. Black was startled and moved about to cut off the tongue.

But suddenly the tongue turned and pierced through the head of the Impostor that appeared behind Black. Then the Impostor was pulled by Red and he instantly devoured it without any remains.

Black and Brown were shocked. They were completely unaware of the Impostor's presence before. Seeing this, Black begins to feel that Red is still conscious.

The tentacles on Red's back moved and caught the three of them. The two Crewmates, including Rugel, did not resist as the tentacles wrapped around their bodies. Then Red jumped high carrying them away from that place. And suddenly another Impostor appeared from within the former land they had previously stood on.

Red took them to safety. He stared at them, while the tentacles on his back moved swiftly brushed aside all the attacks that were being launched at them.

"You all right?" Ask Red.

Black and Brown's bodies were relieved. While Rugel wiggled his tail happily and then licked Red's feet. Red smiled then carried Rugel and the dog licked his face.

"Red, are you conscious?" Black asked in disbelief as well as being happy.

"I'm still conscious" replied Red.

"But how can it?" Ask Brown wonder.

"It's a pretty long story, but I'll cut it short. So I'm actually an Impostor. But not 100% but rather half Impostor and half human. When I got into the liquid that was in the Impostor's stomach, I started to remember everything. All this time the memories that came to me were actually memories of my past. The reason why I'm still conscious, is because I'm not an infected human. I have my own consciousness, in contrast to the infected where they are controlled by the parasites themselves" Red explained.

They're both beards. Black advanced towards Red then hugged him tightly. He did not care about the disgusting viscous liquid that was on Red's body. Rugel went straight down to make them more free. Red returned Black's embrace.

"In my eyes, you're still Crewmate" Black said.

Red smiled with relief. Somewhat long they hugged until finally Brown realized the two of them.

"Your woof!" Connect Rugel.

"You're annoying once, but you're right too" Black said as he let go of his embrace.

The tentacles on Red's back fluttered the other tentacles so that around them was created empty space. They all advanced in unison while holding their respective weapons.

"Defend until our help!" Black's orders.

"Ready!" Answer Red and Brown.

"Your woof!" Answer Rugel.

Meanwhile above, a crew plane comes out of The Skeld and catches Riot's attention.

A few moments before...

"Captain, let me be the bait," bargained the person who contacted Black earlier.

"Maroon's? Are you sure?" Gray did not believe it.

"I'm very sure, Captain. Tan taught me how to drive a plane. And also, we can't let them wait long" Maroon explained.

Gray thought as he looked at Riot who was still trying to eat them. Come to think of it, the creature was not agile. He had to stop first to turn around. But he's fast enough to move straight.

"All right, you can go. But remember! Do not fly too long straight. He's very fast if straight. You have to turn around but still with the intention of keeping him away from us" Gray said.

"Ready Captain!" Maroon replied firmly and then went to the plane room.

Gray looked at the person holding the wheel, "Banana, get Tan here!"

Banana nodded then contacted Tan who was sitting in the cafeteria. Hearing his name on the call, he immediately rushed into the navigation.

Gray explains the plan. Tan nodded in understanding then went to the plane room as well. Banana moves the plane, trying to find the right momentum to release the Maroon.

After a long time of flying to and fro, he finally managed to release the Maroon to lure Riot.

Now it's...

Riot who saw the crew plane flying nearby, immediately moved quickly about to eat the plane.

But Maroon immediately turned a sharp turn so that Riot did not manage to eat it. True to what Gray said, Riot is indeed fast if flying straight.

Maroon had already filled the plane's fuel tanks to the brim, so he didn't have to worry about running out of fuel. He flies in a zigzag motion, making Riot trouble catching him.

After Riot moved away, the plane piloted by Tan came out and flew towards Polus. But the giants were blocking him so he had trouble getting close.

"It doesn't seem easy" muttered Tan.
