Among Us: Origin Story
Chapter 4: Welcome to Mira HQ

Red woke up early this morning. As the mysterious person had said last night, he immediately headed to the designated place. He went walking because the location was not too far away.

Once there, Red was confused. That place is so quiet. There was no one but him. That scared Red a little. Afraid that he is being framed.

Suddenly someone appears behind Red and smothers his mouth. The surprised Red suddenly turned around while throwing a punch.

"Ouch!" Said the man while falling down. Red gawked at getting to know that person who turned out to be the same person last night.

"E-eh I'm sorry, are you okay?" Ask Red in panic.

"Haha... I told you not to mess with him now you got hit. Hahaha," the laughter of his friend.

"See shut up" said the man, standing at Red's aid.

"Sorry," Red said again.

"It's okay" replied the man. His friend tried to hold back the laughter, it made him even more annoyed.

"Here you go, how about we just go?" Red's proposal was answered nodding by the two men.

Red followed them towards the parked car not far from the place. After entering, the car began to move towards the destination.

"Is that Mira HQ in the woods?" Red asked as they were currently in the forest.

"No, just the way there through the forest" replied the person next to him.

"If you may know, what are the names of the two of you?" Ask Red.

"My name is Liu, and then if the person you hit was Vio," replied the man named Liu. He pointed to his friend who was driving.

"Huh forget that," said Vio angrily. While Liu was just giggling.

"*J* lf there's no Red in this car, I must've thrown it outside, "inner Vio.

After passing the uphill and winding road, they also arrived at a guard post. From inside the post, came 2 people who dismissed them.

Vio opened his car window and showed me an identity card. Seeing the card, they let Red and his two friends through.

After climbing a little, they finally arrived at an open field which was a helicopter runway. There are also a few small buildings around.

Liu immediately got out of the car and ran towards one of the buildings, followed by Red who came down from the car. He didn't know there was a helicopter pad.

"We're leaving soon" said Liu, who had returned with Red, who was believed to be a helicopter pilot.

"Come on!" Vio answered and asked Red to get into one of the helicopters followed by the three men.

The helicopter started moving and flew through the clouds. The air is so cold. Even though wearing a jacket is not enough. Red started to shiver.

A thick fog began to envelop them. The visibility disappeared but the three people looked calm, it seemed as if they were used to dealing with such a situation. With the exception of Red who was a little anxious but trying to believe in the pilot.

The fog slowly thinned. Red saw a large building but it was not very clear because it was covered in fog. It was only after the helicopter pierced through the fog that the building was clearly visible.

Red's amazed. He saw a building so tall and large through the clouds and set against the background of the rising sun.

"Welcome to Mira HQ" greeted Vio while still looking ahead.

Red was absolutely amazed. He looked out the window and saw several helicopters and spacecraft descending from above and heading towards Mira HQ. It made Red want to ask something but he paused because they had already approached Mira HQ.

Their helicopter slowly descended and landed smoothly. They came down and were greeted by someone wearing a grey guard uniform. Red recognized the person as the one who came to him yesterday.

"Good work, now you can rest. Red you're coming with me" said the man.

"That's what we want to do" replied Vio. Suddenly Liu ran away.

"Who quickly he got it," Liu said as he ran. Vio.

"Heh you cheated," he screeched as he ran.

"I'm coming" said the pilot and followed Vio and Liu.

"Just ignore them. By the way you can call me Mr. Junaidi, I am a security officer in Mira HQ," said Mr. Junaidi with a friendly smile.

"We just go straight to the boss," said Mr. Junaidi again and then went followed by Red.

"Basan?"

"Yes, he is the one who takes care of Mira HQ. And it was he who asked that you be transferred here, too" he replied.

They arrived at the special landing site of the spacecraft. There were several astronauts who got off the plane, some mechanics who were busy repairing the plane, janitors who were no less busy, and many more.

"You wait here for a while I want to talk to my friend" said Mr. Junaidi and went to his friend who also wore a guard uniform. Red complies and stays in position.

"Pst... Hey you red jacket," call someone to Red.

Red turned his head but there was no one near him. He was confused too.

"Hey down here," call that voice again. Red looked down and was surprised to the point of retreating.

It turned out that underneath there was an open vent and there was someone inside.

"Sorry to surprise you, but can you please get me the black box?" Pinta the guy.

Red turned his head and saw a black toolbox that was open. He took the box and gave it to the man.

"Thank you" said the man, turning on the flashlight on his hat and disappearing into the darkness of the vent. Red remained attentive to him, even as the person disappeared he remained in his position.

"What are you doing Red?" Ask Junaidi suddenly.

Red was surprised again, "Gosh, oh um yeah I didn't do anything," Red replied stuttering.

"Then why are you looking into the vent?"

"Who's on that vent?" Red asked back.

"Oh that's an engineer. Their job is to repair the damage in Mira HQ" replied Junaidi. Red just nodded.

Red gets an unusual sight. He saw an animal with plants growing on his body. Like a frog as tall as he is with a lotus flower on his back, a snake scaly leaves, and much more.

"What the fuck?" Asked Red dumbfounded.

"Why? You confused?" Mr. Junaidi chuckled.

"Yes" replied Red.

"Look. In this day and age there are many species of animals and plants that have become extinct. Scientists are here trying to bring them back. But of course they have to test first and the strange creatures you see now are the results of failed trials" said Mr. Junaidi at length.

"Oh, but aren't some of them dangerous?"

"If that one..."

Aaaa...!!!

Mr. Junaidi's sentence was cut because a guard ran past them and not long after he passed by, a strange rose-shaped creature that moved wriggling like a snake chased the guard. Followed up with some guards and scientists chasing after them.

"It's normal," continued Junaidi with a calm smile.

They continued their journey until when they reached the hall turn sharply, Pak Junaidi stopped and then slightly away from Red because his phone rang.

"Hello? Yes he has come. Whahuh? The other one hasn't come yet? Oh okay. See you later," Mr. Junaidi hung up and returned to Red.

"Actually when I came that night, there was one more person who visited. He's from the same place as you. It's just that he hasn't come yet, so can you wait in the cafeteria for a bit? Because the boss wants to talk directly to the two of you so he doesn't have to talk twice" Junaidi said.

"Well I'll wait, but where's the cafeteria?" Ask Red.

"Before a minute" Junaidi said, "Hey Nevi is here!" Call it to one of the scientists.

The scientist approached them with a friendly smile and both hands were in the pocket of his robe. Mr. Junaidi explained some things to the scientist and left.

"My name is Nevi, I will take you to the cafeteria" Nevi said as she extended her hand. Red replied to him and followed him.

"Are you a doctor, Nevi?" Ask Red.

"No, I'm just a scientist" Nevi replied

They continued walking until they passed through a hallway made of glass and finally arrived at a large room with 2 rectangular tables and a beverage machine.

"It's cafeteria. Come on, I'll accompany you, but now it's also my rest," Nevi asked.

They took out 2 bottles of mineral water and some snacks then sat down and started chatting casually.

Suddenly a strange green creature with an antennae on its head flew low into the cafeteria while carrying a red headphone. Not long after the creature entered, someone also entered while shouting at the creature.

"Don't run, give me back my headphones!" His screams made people shocked. Including Red.

The creature mocked him and took him around the room. When the creature took a sharp turn, the man slipped and fell. The creature laughed and flew away, but Red blocked it.

"Give back the headphones!" Red's orders but the creature shook its head. But the creature was silent for a moment.

His gaze was fixed on Red's snack. He took off the headphones and took a snack and left. Red swiftly caught the headphones so as not to fall and approached the person.

"You okay?" Ask Red.

"Oh," the man groaned as he rubbed his banged head, "I'm fine," he replied and stood to Red's aid.

"It's your headphones."

"Woah thank you very much" he said, taking the headphones off and wearing them.

"Heh Nevi, teach your pet that manners!" Scream that guy again at Nevi.

"I don't know how to teach headslug manners" Nevi replied.

"It's like you're being disrespectful."

"God!" Nervous jerk Nevi is upset. While the man laughed amusedly.

The man stopped laughing then noticed Red, "I've never seen you before. Are you new?" Ask.

"He was an astronaut who was transferred here" Nevi replied.

"Oh you apparently. Introduce my name Black, I'm the communications and information officer here" said the man.

"Hi I'm Red, greetings," said Red a little nervously.

Red sat down. Black makes coffee first and then joins in.

"So what do you think of the missing plane?" Black asked open the conversation.

"The missing plane?" Red asked back confused.

"Heh he hasn't been told about it yet" Nevi said as she elbowed Black.

Black was surprised, "Not been told? Oh, my gosh, my mouth" said Black regretting his words.

Red's curiosity peaked, "What's wrong with the missing plane? Can you guys tell me? I've been holding back my curiosity ever since I came here" forced Red. He would lose his manners if he was curious.

Black and Nevi looked at each other and sighed.

"I'll tell you" said Black.

Red was silent again.in a moment all his questions would be answered.
