291. Not Acting

That afternoon, Iyaz fulfilled his promise to meet the parents of Nuara. Iyaz drove Nuara by taxi. Even though the two were sitting apart, happiness still radiated on their faces.

“ Assalamualaikum..,” greet Nara and Iyaz together.

“ Wa alaikumsalam..,” both parents said with a smile.

“ There is Mas Iyaz. Let's please enter Mas...,” said papa Nuara friendly.

“ Thank You Sir..,” said Yes.

Iyaz followed Papa Nuara into the living room, while Nuara and her mother went to the kitchen to prepare coffee and snacks.

Nuara put the coffee cup on the table and sat down next to her. After making small talk, Iyaz conveyed his intention to come that afternoon.

“ I heard tonight there will be guests who want to propose to Nuara. Is that true Sir...?” ask Iyaz carefully.

“ Yes, right Mas...,” say papa Nuara fast.

“ Honestly I object Sir..,” said Iyaz.

“ Sorry, what does it mean Mas..?” ask papa Nara not understand.

“ I object because I came here actually want to apply for Nuara to be My Wife Sir..,” said Iyaz firmly to surprise both parents Nuara.

The two stared at each other as if in disbelief at their hearing. Then the two looked at Nuara who was looking down while squeezing her fingers. And it was then that they saw the sparkle of a ring that coiled sweetly on the finger of Estuary.

“ Estuary..,” call the papa.

“ Yes Pa. Yang Mas Ayaz said it was true. Not that this morning Papa said that I can refuse the matchmaking as long as there is someone I like to propose to Me ?. And I have received Mas Iyaz's application earlier..,” said Nuara while staring at the papa.

All this time I loved Nuara and deliberately waited for the right time to tell my feelings. But when I heard Nuara was going to be betrothed to another man, I realized I had to act fast. I don't want to lose Nara because I love her so much. So I beg you, please cancel the matchmaking..” said Iyaz while holding the hand of papa Nuara.

“ You guys are not lying to us right. Who knows you're acting so that Nuara can reject their proposal.?” ask papa Nuara while staring at Iyaz.

“ We are not acting Sir. God willing I will bring my parents and family to do it

official application as soon as sir...,” said Iyaz steady.

Papa Nuara seemed to think while staring at Iyaz and Nuara alternately. And it makes the atmosphere in the room quiet. Only the sound of the beating of the wall clock filled the room. A moment later papa Nuara also said something that made Iyaz and Nuara moved.

“ Well, I believe. I will cancel the matchmaking of Nuara with the man later.” said papa Nuara.

“ Thank God, thank you sir..,” said Iyaz then kissed the back of papa Nuara's hand as an expression of gratitude.

Papa Nuara rubbed his head with a smile. While Nuara and the mama seem to hug each other while shedding tears. After breaking the hug with the mama, Nuara switched to hug the papa.

“ Thanks Pa...,” said Nuara while scattering hugging the papa.

“ Both Nak...,” sahut papa Nuara while rubbing the back of the Estuary gently.

After unraveling the embrace with the papa Nuara also seemed to wipe his tears. It was then that he accidentally glanced at Iyaz who was also staring at him. The two also throw each other a smile and it makes both parents Nuara smile. Now the two are convinced that Nuara and Iyaz are indeed in a serious relationship even though they keep their distance from each other.

That night the guest who was awaited by the parents of Nuara came. They brought with them their sons who were to be betrothed to Nuara. The man named Diki is handsome and looks well established to make both parents amazed when they first see him.

“ Please sit...,” said papa Nuara friendly.

“ Thank you...,” said Diki's father represented the entourage.

“ Sorry Om Adam, where is Son Om who he said he wanted to be known to me..?” ask Diki impatiently.

Diki's question made everyone in the room laugh. They are familiar with Diki's attitude because honestly they are also waiting for the presence of Nuara.

“ Sorry before, but My Son is not at home at this time.” said Adam honestly because Nuara was indeed displaced to the aunt's house according to the request of his parents.

“ What it means Mr. Adam. Did Mr. Adam's son not know tonight our family came to propose to him.?” ask Diki's father.

In an instant there was a commotion in the living room. Diki and her family looked angry and started cursing. While mama Nuara looks silent with a trembling body for fear of something unwanted.

“ By Allah I have no intention of playing games with Father and family. But I also do not know if Nuara is in a relationship with a man even they intend to get married. All this time I knew the Estuary itself and had no partner. So please forgive me..” said Adam while cupping his palms in front of his chest.

“ I don't want to know. You guys have embarrassed me. So wait for what you will get later..!” said Diki's father in flames and then came out of the house without saying goodbye.

Diki and his family followed behind his father. Diki had turned to look at the parents of Nuara and smiled cynically before getting into the car. Both of Nuara's parents let go of their guests with chaotic feelings. But in their hearts they are happy because they broke up the match between Nuara and Diki.

“ Alhamdulillah We are not so besanananan same them yes Pa. Ga kebayang if Nuara has a proud husband and does not have a rich manners of the Diki..,” said mama Nuara.

“ Yes Ma. It turns out that Iyaz is much better than Diki..,” said Adam with a smile.

“ Hopefully nothing after this yes Pa. Mama kok is afraid of the last words of his father Diki earlier..,” said mama Nuara while shuddering.

“ Aamiin...,” says Adam expectantly.

The night passed and the parents of Nuara slept well. However, the strangeness occurred when they were after performing the dawn prayer.

Mama Nuara screamed loudly to the surprise of Nando and the papa who had just returned from the mosque after morning prayers. The two ran quickly to the room and found the woman lying on the bed grimacing in pain.

“ What's up Ma...?” ask Nando.

Mama Nuara did not answer. He pointed towards his suddenly enlarged stomach while grimacing in pain.

“ Mama's pregnant.?” nando asked, not understanding.

“ Not Nando, Mama doesn't know why. But it hurts so much....,” said the mother in a soft voice.

Adam crouched down while touching the wife's belly which was swollen and reddish in color. The man was surprised to feel hot when he touched his wife's stomach. A second later his wife screamed again because she felt something hurt her stomach.

“ Look Pa, Mama's belly moves strangely rich there's something moving in there.!” nando said loudly

pointing at the mother's stomach twitching rapidly and moving.

Mama Nuara was crying because she could not bear the pain. A moment later mama Nuara spewed foul-smelling black blood from her mouth then screamed once more and fell unconscious.

“ Mom..!” call Nando.

“ Astaghfirullah aladzim.., yes Allah please save my Wife..” Adam said with a trembling voice while lifting the body of his wife and taking her to the Hospital.

On the way Nando called Nuara and asked her to follow him to the Hospital, while Adam was seen staring fixed on the wife's face. Adam recalls Diki's father's threats and hopes if his conjecture is wrong.
