Nadin opened his eyes which felt very heavy. The woman sharpened her hearing when she heard the bell repeatedly. With a small step Nadin walked closer to the source of the voice.
Nadin's pale face was still visible. Instant pajamas and hijab wrap around Nadin's warm body. His thin hands opened the door slowly. The dawn sky immediately greeted the woman.
"Mas Dikta?" Nadin looked at his brother with a surprised face. Dikta was surprised to see Nadin's pale face.
"Dec, are you sick?" ask Dikta. His hands were trying to reach Nadin's face. However, the owner immediately dodged the touch.
"Why come here early in the morning?" asked Nadin astonished.
Dikta scrunched his forehead. "Sister should ask. Why are you still here? Didn't the Guard tell you?" ask Dikta.
"Mas Dana," muttered Nadin. She just remembered her husband was not next to her when she woke up. At first Nadin thought the Guard went to the mosque or where. But why did Dikta ask that.
"What's wrong? Dana didn't say what?" nadin asked.
"Pak Dimas died" said Dikta with eyes that continued to look at Nadin. Waiting for the reaction his sister would give.
Nadin was silent for a moment. Trying to understand what Dikta just said. "Dana's Dad?" nadin asked with a confused face.
Dikta nodded firmly. "Everything was gathered there from the early hours. Brother is looking for you where there is none. Your phone can not, finally brother try to find you here," explained Dikta. "It turns out you don't know" he continued.
Nadin squeezes the doorknob. His clear eyes stared blankly. "Why didn't Dana wake me up?" he murmured very softly.
What the angry Guard did to Nadin to not tell him. As a wife and daughter-in-law of Mr. Dimas of course Nadin should be there. Why Nadin was the last to know.
"Dec," call Dikta to destroy Nadin's daydream.
Nadin looked at Dikta with teary eyes. "Mas Dikta's here just want my nyamperin?" ask Nadin.
Dikta smiled soothingly. The man rubbed the top of Nadin's head full of affection. "Get ready first, huh? Brother wait here," tell Dikta.
Nadin nodded. The woman went to clean up for a while. His head immediately thought of many things. How will people react later if they see him coming. Nadin should have been there since. Support for her husband and mother-in-law.
....
Of course the sad news from the Guard family made many people shocked. Avoid close relatives or close neighbors. Anita who was always with her husband was also shocked. Never did the woman imagine they would be separated so soon.
Nadin sat next to Halimah. Her beautiful face kept looking down to dodge the gazes of the people. Since his arrival here Nadin continues to hear voices talking about him. It was Nadin who came here the lateest.
Nadin glanced a little at the state of her husband. The man sat cross-legged in front of his father's body with a blank look. Beside her was Anita who was crying in the arms of a woman.
"Aren't you samperin your husband?" whispered Halimah without looking at Nadin.
Nadin was silent for a moment. He was afraid and hesitant to approach the Guard. His relationship with the Guard has not improved. Nadin was just afraid the Guard didn't like his arrival.
"You don't hear people talking about you, Nad?" asked Halimah in a soft voice. "Samperin your husband" said Halimah.
"Umma," said Nadin to give a rebuttal. Nadin had since realized that many mouths were talking about him. However, there is still a sense of arrogance that makes Nadin urgently approach the Guard.
"Do not make Umma ashamed, yes," said Halimah firmly.
Nadin swallowed his nervous saliva. It felt very awkward to approach the Guard. However, it does not look inappropriate if Nadin continues to sit far from the position of the Guard.
With courage that began to accumulate a little. Nadin approached her husband. The woman sat down beside the Guard. The hands of the Guard were interlocked between his legs.
"Mas" called Nadin in a soft voice.
The guard looked up at Nadin. His sharp eyes looked red and teary. Nadin knows how devastated the Guard feels. The woman also knew how much effort the Guard had put into restraining her cries.
"The gas can cry. I know Mas Dana is sad," said Nadin with eyes that never escaped the face of the Guard.
The guard lowered his head. Nadin could see the tears from the man. Grasped it with the Guard's hand. As much as possible Nadin showed his support for the Guard.
After waiting for some things to be prepared. A middle-aged man came closer to the Guard. He said preparations for the funeral were over. This means that Mr. Dimas' body must be buried immediately.
The Guard helped bring his father's coffin. While Nadin helped guide Anita to the car that will take them to the funeral and calm the woman.
Nadin looked at the woman. It felt like he recognized his face even though he could only catch a glimpse.
...
The day was closed with a lecture attended by neighbors and relatives of the Guard. The mood of grief is still clearly felt. The feeling of surprise and unexpected was also still a conversation.
The sudden departure of Dimas certainly makes Anita hit. The middle-aged woman was still crying lamenting the departure of her husband.
"Mom eat first, huh?" persuade Nadin. The beautiful woman came to Anita who was silent in her room after she finished following the payroll.
Anita just silently heard Nadin's voice. The middle-aged woman sat on the bed with a blank look.
"Mama hasn't eaten since morning, has she?" nadin asked in a soft voice. The back of Anita's hand began to wrinkle. "Nadin bring food here, huh? Mama would eat here if she didn't want to go out."
"No need," replied Anita flatly. "Mama wants a break" he continued. The woman began to lay herself in bed.
"Well, you don't want to eat first? Mama will get sick if she does not eat" persuaded Nadin again.
"Mama wants a break" Anita replied firmly.
Nadin nodded hearing that. She pulled a blanket to cover Anita's body. After that Nadin turned around leaving his mother-in-law's room.
There was actually a curiosity that Nadin had stored up since earlier. About the sudden departure of his father-in-law.
With a slow step Nadin walked towards the Guard room. The two of them will obviously stay here for a few days. Nadin's small steps stopped when he almost hit a new woman out of the kitchen.
"Eh!? Sorry-sorry," Nadin said spontaneously.
With a quick movement Nadin picked up some bread packs that fell from the woman's hand. Afterwards Nadin straightened up and looked at the woman before him. Seeing that familiar face made Nadin frown a little.
"Mbak Sela?" guess Nadin.
The woman did not answer. He hurriedly snatched a few packs of bread in Nadin's hands. Then leave at a quick pace.
Nadin looked at the back. "Mbak Sela is pregnant?" Nadin's mummy. He had seen his belly earlier.
"Nad," call the Guard.
Nadin looked up to look at her husband. The Guard just finished talking to his last guest tonight. Can see the face of my Guards who look tired.
"Will you eat first?" tawar Nadin's. The woman of course knew the Guard had not eaten since morning either.
Garda shook his head while sitting on one of the chairs in the dining room. "Don't open any talks with Sela" the Guard said firmly.
Nadin sat down beside the Guard with a confused face. "Why indeed?" nadin asked in a whisper.
Garda looked at Nadin with a careless look. "Just follow my word" the Guard said firmly.
Nadin immediately shrieked at the Garda's words. "Mas still angry?" ask Nadin.
"I don't want to discuss this matter first" replied the Guard calmly. His hands were clinging to each other on the table with his body upright.
"Saying if I recover Mas Dana wants to talk to me," said Nadin demanding the Guard's promise. "I'm healed now."
The Guard's sharp gaze was inevitable after hearing Nadin's words. The man looked at his wife with a look of wonder. "You can't read the situation, can you!?" ask the Guard with jaws that are starting to harden.
"But it was Dana who said it herself" Nadin's great-grandson.
Garda rubbed his face violently. "Your husband is like this and you still think about it?" ask the Guard again.
"I just want our problems to be solved quickly, Mas," said Nadin. "I don't want our relationship to be this awkward."
"As far as you! I'm tired of you!" After saying that the Guard immediately moved from his seat. Choosing to leave Nadin pensive seornag himself.
