Am A Librarian Not A Servant Of The Demon God
People In Dreams

Snow fell, hills full of irises, big old trees, and sleeping beauty. It seemed like everything Davey saw was bathed in a warm light, as if his vision was through a soft filter. All of it was a beautiful sight like a fairy tale.

Mr. Wilde did not lie, Davey mused as he observed the flower bed before bending over to pluck the iris and kiss it.

Twirling the flower, Davey noticed that the petals were pure and graceful. Regardless of sight, smell, or touch, these flowers are very realistic.

Clear dreams?

At times, Davey also has dreams where he can maintain his clear mind and even realize that he is dreaming. This type of dream is called lucid dreaming.

In this state, a person who dreams will have complete control over his actions, thoughts, and even memories. Some can even make their own dreams feel no different from the real reality.

Although it sounds very extraordinary, in fact the phenomenon of lucid dreaming is not so rare and someone can train himself to be able to experience lucid dreams.

Davey is not someone who can easily achieve lucid dreams. Based on his memories, he had only experienced a few dreams where he realized he was dreaming.

Now, he had entered a state of lucid dreaming after just hanging up the dream catcher phone. Davey is still hesitant about the dreamcatcher effect.

Perhaps, the spider web design and the words of Mr. Wilde have elicited subtle psychological suggestions, resulting in this dreamland.

Davey felt this was the most logical and scientific explanation.

Of course, he was not someone who should always understand the rationality of things and all these were just his passing thoughts. As a romanticist who would brew a pot of tea while waiting for an unknown customer to come visit during a rainstorm, Davey still somewhat believes that this is a mystical gift from Mr. Wilde.

Nevertheless, since this was a dream, could he do as he pleased? Davey stared intently at the girl lying under the tree.

He was somewhat curious why out of all the things he could dream of, he only had to dream of a woman. Of course, he could not say that this was something he would not dream of because he was a man.

But logically, the characters in his dream should not be too obvious yet completely unknown.

In the end, it was just a dream. Anything can happen in a dream, right? Davey looked at himself.

He slowly put aside the flower bed and shuffled into the tree. Davey wants to see exactly what this "dream man" looks like.

Davey noticed this woman was even more beautiful than he had imagined. She had a very delicate beauty, as if she was a statue of the Roman goddess Venus.

Long silver hair decomposed over the flower bed like a silk curtain. His snow-white body impeccably gasped for breath as he slept and even his long eyelashes were like the fluttering wings of a butterfly in pure white. In a sense, it seemed like he was wearing a white crown of thorns.

As expected of a dream. This is just a scene from an oil painting. Davey sighed in admiration.

He had not said anything all this time and only muttered in his heart as he could not bear to disturb this dream-like vibration.

Because this was a dream, he could allow himself to become a little more uncontrollable.

Davey leaned over and brushed off some silver hair, revealing the woman's ears. Gently, he tucked the white iris flower over his left ear.

Davey had never committed such flaccid acts to any woman before in the real world, let alone to a stranger he had just met.

But since this was a dream, he only did what he wanted. Moreover, he only gave gifts because he was fascinated by her beauty.

Davey arranged the flowers in place and had just straightened his back when he suddenly noticed a pair of silvery-white eyes staring at him.

“!”

He took two steps back in a hurry.

"Descending…"

A gust suddenly blew, causing the iris flower to rustle in the wind and shine. The snow-white petals floated up and the huge tree creaked loudly like an antique pipe organ.

The whole dream world seems to be spinning.

The silver-haired woman wrapped in a bright white cloth stood up from the flower bed as she glanced at Lin Jie with a confused and suspicious expression.

Davey suddenly realizes that his height exceeds what he expected.

She did not notice it when she leaned against the tree, but when this woman stood up, Davey had to raise his head to look at her entire figure.

That is, the 'person in his dream' was at least two meters tall...

As expected, everything is possible in a dream.

Or, it could be that Davey's feelings are a bit confused because he's dreaming.

"Who are you?" ask the tall 'person in the dream' while staring at Davey. Her soft voice that had the charm of an adult woman was strangely charming.

Davey was momentarily dazed, He did not expect such a question from the other party. Instead, he would ask this question and see what kind of interesting answer this character would give from his subconscious mind.

He really never expected this guy to steal his move as well as his question …

But when he thought about it, wouldn't the conversation between the 'dreaming person' and the 'dreaming person' be more interesting?

Davey pondered for a moment and smiled. “Someone who is dreaming.”

'The person in his dream' reached out to touch the iris flower in his ear and said, "Of course, you're the one who's having that dream."

He really knows that he's in a dream?

Davey immediately finds it interesting, he can experience lucid dreams and the person in his dreams realizes he is in a dream. Does he also know that he is not in reality?

But unless this person he dreamed of was real and had connected to this dreamland through some unknown means, this would all be nonsense.

So, the person in his dream was just a figment of his subconscious.

“At least this answer is correct so it is my turn to ask now.” Davey skillfully turned the question into a kind of equivalent exchange. Clearing his throat, he asked, “Who are you? —You can't say that you are the person in my dreams.”

Perhaps because it was a dream, Davey felt he was showing a bit of a mischievous inclination.

'The person in his dream' smiled, lifting up his white satin skirt with a simple respect, "Silver, that's my name."

“Only your name?” answer Davey.

"At least this answer is correct." Silver tilted his head and continued, "It's my turn to ask, am I right?"

Silver's gaze fell as he said sadly, “I've been here for a very long time. I have forgotten the importance of time for so long. It's definitely a beautiful place, but I often feel too lonely. Can you tell me why I feel this way?

Isn't this just lonely? devisey looked at herself.

Can he also give his professional expertise in dreams?

Hearing Silver's grim voice and looking at his pleading silver eyes, 'Menter of Life' Lin Jie couldn't help but wonder if this dream just happened to suit his taste.

The serene and soothing atmosphere of this romantic iris hill is like in a fairyland. In addition, there is a beautiful woman for him to do one of his favorite activities — serves chicken soup.

This dream is so beautiful!

Assuming that Davey's ultimate dream of owning all the books in the world has been realized, the, then serving chicken soup to encourage others and lead them out of frustration and adversity is another favorite pastime.

Seeing faces filled with worry or those who are slumped in grief regain their positivity as if they have rediscovered their hopes and dreams will leave Davey feeling complacent warm.

According to Davey, there is no pure and simple kindness in this world. Most of the time when Davey helps others without asking for anything in return, he actually gets satisfaction from seeing the reactions of these people.

Simply put, helping others in this way makes Davey happy. It is regrettable that he only had a few repeat customers who would return in fixed intervals due to his poor bookstore business, resulting in him losing a lot of the fun in life.

Having said that, being asked for help in his dream immediately attracted Davey's desire to serve chicken soup.

Davey pondered for a moment. Since this was a dream, he did not need to be careful and therefore, he reached out and said, "How about sitting down and chatting?"

The handshake, the universal symbol for expressing hospitality should be the most appropriate method here, Davey thought to himself.

Silver had a slightly confused expression on his face as he looked at Lin Jie's hand and hesitated, Finally, he raised his own hand and gently placed it on his palm.

Soft, yet ice-cold.

This is what Davey immediately felt, He tightened his grip on the woman's hand. shook it, and sat together on the flowerbed where he had lay before.

Davey casually sits cross-legged and decides to first understand more about this "person in a dream" before he can make chicken soup to calm his soul.

"Are you always alone in this dream?" ask Davey.

Silver tilted his head, his long hair falling over the side of his face. “Nobody has entered before, nor can anyone enter. You're the first."

Ahh. So the character designs like Rapunzel…

Perhaps certain conditions made her unable to relate to others and she had to live a solitary life in eternal sleep within this beautiful expanse of flowers.

Sounds a lot like a fairy tale.

Davey felt that this kind of problem was the easiest to solve. Compared to those who felt lonely in a noisy and crowded place, this matter seemed pure.

This can easily be helped by developing some hobbies. Of course, the most effective way of progress is to completely leave this place, make friends, and fill one's life with enrichment.

However, this was just a figment of his dream making Davey suddenly feel a little uncomfortable.

"It's loneliness and loneliness that make you feel this way." Davey said gently, “That's because you're always alone and never understand that you're lonely. You have even lost the semblance of time because you are always repeating the same thing without any changes, resulting in a lack of novelty. All you can do is reflect, and the more you reflect and think, the more lonely and the more painful it will be."

“Many others are like this too. Philosophers, poets, for example. Such geniuses often think far and deep, yet are unable to understand and solve their puzzles. And as a result, they ended up choosing to commit suicide.”

Therefore, the saying that ignorance is bliss is somewhat true..

“Mind... is the root of pain. Since they couldn't understand me, they were afraid of me, and distanced themselves from me,” muttered Silver, looking pensive.

Davey was also pensive. There seems to be a bit of a 'philosopher' in his character design. From what sounds like, he might be viewed as a freak in the eyes of ordinary people due to his way of thinking and eventually choosing to separate himself from the world.

Davey suddenly made up his mind, so what if he was the person in his dream. There is never a requirement to make friends. In addition, a friend he only knew in a certain sense, was romantic.

But whatever the case, he could only be a 'pioneer' when it came to helping this lonely woman before his eyes. Davey looked at Silver sincerely and said, "I think I might be able to understand you."

"I know," Silver replied with a faint smile. “When you appear in this dream means you understand me. You and I have the same level.or maybe, your idea is even higher than mine."

Is this how philosophers praise others? Talking in such a twisted way.

Davey had little suspicion that this was just flattery, but he cleared his throat and said, "If you put it like this, it means I've been acknowledged by you ... Now, I sassy .. no, most earnest requests that I hope you can approve.”

When facing someone with such a long 'loneliness', it is best to let them take the initiative. Otherwise, he would definitely refuse out of habit. Therefore, Davey had to make it difficult for him to directly refuse.

Silver-eyed Davey hesitated.

Davey put on his warm smile, "Will you be my friend?"

"Fr-fr-friends?"

Davey nodded. “Ya, a friend. The reason you feel lonely is actually because you are bored. Do you not feel that this place is too monotonous even though it is beautiful? Facing the same scene all the time will make it exhausting sooner or later.”

Chuckling, Davey continued, “Have you ever tried to make friends before? Having someone to chat with and share everyday trivia will be much more fun than being alone.”

When sharing is mentioned, the thought of recommending a book comes to Davey's mind.

He must be tempted. However, since it was a dream, he had previously only wanted to give Silver some psychological advice. After all, they weren't in the bookstore and Davey didn't have any books…

Since this was a dream, I should have been able to do something that was impossible in ordinary situations. Maybe producing a book?

By relying on his memories, he should be able to recall a book completely…

Thud.

Davey felt a burden appear on his thigh. He lowered his gaze and looked at the hardcover copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales .

Davey knows this book very well. In her childhood, a copy of Grimm's Fairy Tales translation was one of her subjects when she learned Mandarin. Rapunzel's story is also from this book.

“Take this book as a gift from meeting a friend for the first time,” Davey said as he handed the book over.

Silver picked up the book, stroking its cover gently. “For a long time no one gave me a gift or wanted to chat with me. I have nothing here except the tree, the fruit and the flowers and the nectar. If you want, you can choose one of these as my gift in return. ”
