The atmosphere in the living room was immediately tense after Edwin told Dave to join in with a poignant talk and a sharp look at him.
"I've given you a chance at Davin's request, but you don't want to try to learn from your mistakes and waste the opportunity that Davina has given you.!"
Edwin looked disappointed.
For the second time his heart was broken as a father whose daughter was mistreated by his son-in-law.
Someone he should have trusted to protect his daughter, he was the one who incised the wound to make her cry.
Edwin did not even know what problems they were facing, because Davina did not want to tell him what Dave had done to her. Her daughter only asked for help to end her marriage to Dave, and asked to continue studying abroad.
Regardless of what Dave did to Davina, Edwin could feel that his daughter was devastated and hurt. For the rest of his life, Edwin had only seen such great destruction in Davina's eyes for the second time. That was at the time he lost his biological mother, and the destruction that is shown at this time.
Dave stared confusedly, trying to understand the situation that was going on. He realized that Edwin had found out something about him to the point of seeming so angry. But this time he was confused because he felt his relationship with Davina was good until this moment.
"What is this.? I don't understand." Dave looked at Davina and Edwin alternately to ask for an explanation. He also had a chance to look at Sandra, but her brother immediately turned his gaze after looking disappointedly at her.
"I should have asked you that.?!" Edwin.
"What madness have you done to my daughter until she is so broken,!" Edwin stared hard.
When it comes to children, he will never remain silent. Moreover, for many years she who had cared for and raised Davina alone with full love, tenderness and care.
Never made her daughter cry for it.
Dave was silent. He understands more and more what is going on right now.
Looking at Davina's face, Dave could feel the change in attitude and the look of Davina's face was so sad. His wife even slightly shifted to make distance with him. Davina also did not want to look at him in the slightest.
"It should have been from the beginning that my daughter ended your marriage. Without having to feel pain a second time.!" Edwin's anger was growing.
"For what to end.? We're both fine" answered Dave confidently.
Davina immediately turned her head, staring deeply with a gaze full of hurt and despair.
"Maybe Om's fine, not me." Davina.
Of course Dave is fine because he does not feel the pain of getting married with someone who is still shackled in the love of the past. His presence meant nothing to him.
"I want us to get divorced.!" Davina was determined without the slightest doubt. He has been thinking carefully about his decision since 1 week ago.
If parting can make him happy, why should he survive with wounds and tears.
Love can fade over time, but the wound will leave a mark even if it has been healed.
"Why is it suddenly like this.?" Ask Dave lirih. He was about to hold Davina's hand, but was soon on the ledge.
"Nothing is sudden because it has gone through many difficult and painful processes." Sahut Davina flat.
"I'm sure of my decision, Pah. Please speed up our divorce proceedings." Pinta Davina pleads.
"I want to rest," Davina got up from her seat.
Seeing Davina leaving, Dave held her hand.
"We will not get divorced. Until I won't divorce you." Dave said firmly. Davina just smiled wryly, she put away Dave's hand rushing away from the living room.
There is no chance for an old heart, even if Dave is not in a relationship with the woman.
As someone who has felt the pain of being betrayed, this problem is not uncommon. Dave is wrong to play with Davina's feelings and just make it as an impingement.
...*****...
"Davina, you don't have breakfast, baby.?" Sandra prevents Davina from going to the garage.
"Papa's waiting at the dinner table, let's have breakfast first," he said gently.
"Sorry Mah, I have to leave now. I'll have breakfast on campus."
"I'm leaving, '" he stepped back and set foot.
Davina drove her car out of the yard. Someone confronted him outside the gate, forcing Davina to stop the car.
"We need to talk to Davina. I'm gonna fix everything," Dave tapped Davina's windshield.
"I beg you to forgive me." Dave stared at me.
He regretted not appreciating Davina's presence by his side.
Davina let out a heavy sigh, she turned off the car and rushed down.
"Speak, 10 minutes from now." He stared at the clock on his wrist.
He only gave Dave 10 minutes to talk.
"What do I have to do to make you forgive me" Dave said. He lowered his head and slowly knelt down in front of Davina.
"I beg you to forgive my stupidity this time. Give me a chance to fix everything and start over." Dave's voice choked.
There was nothing he could do but plead with Davina, because Papa Edwin would not change his decision unless Davina herself changed it.
"You may punish me in any way, but not by abandoning me."
Dave stared pleading, hoping Davina would change her mind and undo her intention not to divorce.
"It wasn't me who left Om, but it was Om himself who had subconsciously made me go.!"
