"Then, what about her mother?" cut Rena impatient.
"I'm sorry, his mother did not save us" said the doctor, full of regret.
"W-what are you saying, Doc? Don't joke with me at a time like this" Rena said, holding tightly onto the Doctor's arm who was surprised by Rena's actions.
"Sorry, Miss. We never joke about other people's lives. We've tried our best. But God has other wills and we can't do anything" replied the Doctor.
"Rena, stop. Don't be like this, Rena!" The dew released Rena's grip which fortunately soon softened.
Dew leads Rena back to the waiting chair, she strokes Rena's back which looks very hard hit.
Obviously she was very sad, Amanda was her closest person recently.
Like tripping and mired into the deepest abyss, Rena wants to roar as hard as possible. But free, the person he wants stays away from him. Slowly but surely, the soul goes from the body it once lived in.
Make the people closest to be crowded and shed a lot of tears. Not one bit gives the opportunity to singleness smile item a inch.
At first glance, the shadow of togetherness had been floating in his mind. Sukma seemed to drift far away when the pseudo-shadows began to fill the head. The self seems to want to rebel, feeling inaccepted with the destiny that comes because it has been separated from loved ones.
But what you want to say, destiny all comes from the creator. We have never had the power to refuse. Despite complaining with all his might, destiny still lived its line.
To take what the Creator wants is his duty.
Rena restored her hair that seemed to fall out because she pulled it very strong. And a voice resuscitated him from the daydream.
"Miss Amanda's family?" call the nurse. There was a little baby in her cradle.
Hearing that someone was looking for Amanda's family, Rena immediately stood up from her seat.
"I, Sus." Rena walked up to Sister and looked at the baby whose eyes were still closed. Looks very plain and funny. But baby, fate is upon him.
"Miss, this is Miss Amanda's daughter, a girl," said the Sister after the tiny baby changed hands.
"Thank you, Sus!" said Rena.
Rena held the tiny baby with all her heart. He stared at the baby who looked very much like his mother's face.
Was your birth a substitute for your mother, son? After your mother left, could it be that you replaced her by our side? If that's true, be my son and grow up well. I will take care of you as well as possible.
"Sus, can we see Amanda one last time?" ask Rena.
"Byeah, Miss. Please enter. But it's alternating, huh?"
Rena just nodded. The first to enter would be Rena with the tiny baby.
Rena looked at Amanda's calm face in her long sleep. With a slight smile adorned his pale face. Like feeling calm has entrusted a baby who has not been touched by his body even to Rena, a person he trusted very much.
"Son, this is your mother. He's been asleep a long time. You don't get mad at him for leaving you, do you? Thank her for giving birth to you as healthy and beautiful as this into the world" Rena whispered, sharing her attention between Amanda and the tiny baby.
"Take note of your Mother's face as much as you can, so you can always remember the face of your angel in your heart later. Look at him, because after this you will never be able to see him again directly, son. But you take it easy, I have been given a mandate by your mother to take care of you wholeheartedly. I will love you with all my soul" he said. While speaking, he also slipped a smile to dispel his tears that were ready to flow.
Now, Rena turned her attention to Amanda. "Amanda, you don't have to worry. This little baby I'm gonna take care of with all my heart." Rena set her breath before she spoke again, "So, don't worry about anything that concerns the world anymore" Rena's tears broke as she said her last words.
He instantly passed out, with a million tears ready to flow at any moment.
"Rena, where's Amanda?" ask Rey and her mother who just arrived.
"Inside, Mom." Rena pointed towards the room she had just entered.
Rey's mother went straight inside.
"Rena, is this Amanda's son?" asked Rey while closely watching the face of the tiny baby who was still asleep.
Rena just nodded in response, no longer able to speak.
Shed Rena's tears, soaked Rey's clothes. But not covered by both. Now, all they cared about was spilling sadness.
Before long, a safe was pushed out. On it was a person whose entire body had been covered with cloth. And they all believe it's Amanda.
Rena, Rey and Dewun simply observe the Brankar starting to move away from their eyes.
"Son, after this we will never see your mother again." Rena whispered back to the tiny baby who was still faithful with her sleep.
"Rena, so you what about this baby?" ask Rey.
"I'll take care of him, Om. I will take care of him like my own son" he replied solemnly. "You don't mind, do you?" ask Rey for an opinion. Rey will be her husband.
"I don't mind at all. We can take care of her like our own child" Rey said with a sweetest smile. Calms Rena's feelings.
"Mother will also take care of him, treating him like a grandson of Mother herself. Help you take care of him. So, you don't have to worry," said Rey's mother who suddenly came to embrace Rena.
"What do you want to name this kid?" ask Rey.
"Amanda Valerie!" rena answered, he seemed to have prepared the name from far away.
"Amanda in memory of his mother who has left us, yet still feels close to the heart. And Valerie, that means strength and health" she explained.
They all nodded in agreement, and the little girl was now Amanda Valerie.
...*****...
After the funeral procession was completed, Rena who had not met Rey for several months because she was not allowed by Mika, was happy to finally meet.
In the car on the way home, his lips continuously curved. Form a smile that looks constantly growing.
"Why are you, anyway, Rena?" ask Rey wonder. He did not not not know that Rena had continued to glance at him while smiling indistinctly.
"Why?" Rena asked back with a flat face. His smile that had been continuously growing had somehow disappeared to nowhere.
Rey was astonished, glancing back at the strange woman beside her who was soon to be his wife.
"So smile to himself. Now pout," Rey quipped.
Rena doesn't heed Rey's words. He was busy playing and talking to Valerie who was being carried by him. The baby was still sleeping very well.
Feeling unconcerned, Rey sighed violently irregularly.
"Why are you, anyway, Rena?" ask Rey again.
"Om, don't you miss me? It has been more than three months that we have not met. But, when you meet me you look ordinary," Rena's exasperated.
Rena's confession makes Rey smile. She did not expect, Rena wanted to be frank about her longing feelings.
"Of course I don't-"
"No miss? Kan, I'm the only one who misses you. But you're not at all!" sulk Rena.
"Why cut my talk, Rena?"
"Of course I miss you. If I don't miss you, then who else should I miss?" reply Rey. Either a confession or just a flurry of praise to calm down, but Rena immediately smiled at the words.
