Mr Trap. Coldhearted

Mr Trap. Coldhearted
The Part 153

“Anastasha Chloe Eleanor.” Edbert mentioned the long name of the woman Gerald had left because he was presumed dead. “You still remember him?”

Gerald paused, sculpting without turning around the body. He didn't want to get hooked on anything Edbert said. “The woman is dead, drowned on the sea floor!”

Edbert laughed at the rival's reply. “So, do you believe in engineering your family?”

Gerald clenched his hands, he was not happy if his family was dragged into their conversation, what else to badmouth. This time his sturdy body turned around, but did not approach Edbert. He just wanted to give a warning to the man who was still standing haughty. “Don't you slander my family, I trust them more than you say!”

Edbert crossed his arms in front of his chest, raising the corner of his lips as a mockery. “Oh, yes? What if you were lied to by them? Do you still believe?”

“Family blood is thicker than anything! There's no way they'd do that to me!” Gerald didn't falter, he couldn't have easily trusted Edbert's words.

“We'll see later, someday you'll thank me for helping you find your lost lover.”

“Imposible.” Gerald still believed more in his family, and he said that the words thrown by Edbert were something that could not have happened. “Chloe is dead, and I saw the evidence myself.”

“Proof? Engineering your family, you mean?” Edbert laughed at how Gerald was so easy to believe and was beguiled by the Dominique and Giorgio families. He deliberately eroded the distance, approaching the rival until the feet stopped exactly within one inch. “Remember how is your family? Especially your very sly uncle. If they can find Chloe and want to find your woman, surely since you asked them for help, they will be found. But, what's the result? Their first aid didn't even get any results, and then the second one just got evidence that Chloe died of drowning. Are you not suspicious of all that?”

Gerald put his eyes as sharp as an eagle, the hand that had been held to not touch Edbert was finally gripping the man's cheek. “Shut up! Don't you take my family into our business!”

“Come hit! Aren't you already emotional with me?” challenge Edbert.

Gerald's getting lazy in there. Unfortunately, his mind began to waver because Edbert's words about his family suddenly swirled. What if what the rival says is true? But it seems impossible. His family would not lie to him. He had to be more sturdy so as not to be ridiculed by Edbert if caught wavering.

Gerald left the gym, he took the elevator to the first floor. Just as the door opens, she sees the face of a secret agent who once wanted to be hired to find Chloe but whose request is rejected. “You?”

The secret agent stood firm, cold, and did not return Gerald's greeting.

“You turned down my offer, and now work with Edbert?”

“Ya!”

The secret agent got rid of Gerald's body blocking the elevator door. He said nothing more, only went inside, and sat with Gerald as the stainless door closed.

Both of Gerald's eyeballs stared at the secret agent until they could no longer be seen. In the past, he was very eager to use the services of that person because his family was not as smart as the agent from New York if it was concerned with finding a secret that was difficult to solve. Although his family is very great, but not all fields can be mastered to their roots. That's why there are still people who are better at focusing on just one thing, and all of that is on secret agents. But, unfortunately Gerald's grandfather, Lordeus, was an enemy of the secret agent's grandfather, so his request was immediately rejected.
