The Removed Rules
Camille dumbfounded. This is the first time Gibson has yelled at him. The man looked upset half-dead after receiving news of Andressa's engagement. Though he had devised a plan to get back on good terms with Andressa as before. However, everything is damaged by an engagement that seems sudden.
“Basic! Can't you speak in a friendly tone to me?!”
Camille grumbled in annoyance. He sat his body down opposite Gibson.
“No. My mood is bad. You better shut up before I kick out of the train. You want to go to the palace, right? So, sit down sweetly.”
Camille grumbled in her heart. Not one bit of grumbling he could say because Gibson in his eyes was really scary when angry. Until now he was forced to remain silent without letting out his heart.
Meanwhile, at the palace of the queen mother's residence, Leyna was seen receiving reports about the engagement plan of the son that will be carried out in the near future. The plan neatly arranged in his head collapsed instantly.
“They're getting engaged? And again, the engagement is done two weeks from now. What are they thinking? Do they think they can get engaged without my blessing?” leyna Mummings.
Everyone who was there did not respond to a single Leyna chatter.
“Hey, you! What the hell is going on right now? Why could the emperor plan an engagement with these commoners?” Leyna asked the noble who reported the matter to her.
“Your Majesty, the emperor said that he does not need your blessing. Therefore, the engagement is still done even without the blessing of the queen mother. Although it initially caused opposition from the nobles, but eventually they could not prevent the emperor,” obviously the nobleman.
“You should be able to suppress the emperor! Moreover, it is about my blessing and approval. Hasn't everything been written on the rules of engagement and imperial marriage?!”
“We can't do it because the emperor has removed the rule.”
Leyna glared in disbelief. His chest warmed up that second as well. Even though he had spies installed in every corner of the palace, he could not believe that he could miss it.
“Deleting rules? Are you kidding me? How could he so easily remove the rules that were all those years?!”
“I'm sorry, Your Honor. We were fooled, nor do we know why the emperor could easily remove the rule. It seems that he paid the imperial law and threatened their lives. You know for yourself the emperor as crazy as if his wishes are not obeyed,” said the nobleman.
Leyna held her head. Dizziness pierced his temple. Never did he expect Lorcan to act recklessly. Now things go awry and the plan gets off track.
“I have to do something about their engagement. I'm not gonna let this happen. Whatever the consequences, their engagement should be cancelled.”
Leyna hurriedly moved from the room towards the main palace. He planned to file a protest with Lorcan about the rules being removed without his knowledge. However, just before he went further into the emperor's room, Leyna was confronted by a group of knights.
“Sorry, Your Majesty, the emperor forbids you to see him now. Please return to your residence,” said one of the knights.
“I don't care! Get you out of my way! I want to talk to the emperor! Don't block me and try to stop me!”
