After saying goodbye, Evan immediately rushed towards the campus. He drives his own car. Despite living abroad, Evan is quite familiar with the streets in Jakarta.
It didn't take long for Evan to get to his chosen campus to continue his studies. Evan immediately parked his car in the parking lot. Not too many cars parked there, because there were not many students who used cars at that time.
Evan immediately headed for the administration. He immediately conveyed the meaning of his arrival. Administrative officers directed Evan to a room on the left side of the stairs.

About an hour later, Evan had completed his registration. He immediately got out of the room and walked to where his car was parked. That day, Evan asked the father to go to the office.
After that, Evan immediately drove his car and went straight to his papa's office. The distance from campus and papa Jimmy's office is not too far away. Evan only took about thirty minutes to get to the office.
Evan immediately parked his car once he reached his papa's office. After that, he rushed towards the room of the papa who was already well known.

Evan knocked on the door of the papa's study. As soon as he got permission, Evan immediately opened the door and entered his papa's study.
"Oh, you're Van. Come here" said papa Jimmy, waving to Evan.
Without waiting any longer, Evan immediately sat himself in the chair opposite the papa.
"How's your college registration going? Everything smoothly?"
"Yes, Pa. Everything's good."
"Good then." Papa Jimmy nodded his head. "Van, actually, there's something Papa wants to talk about. Papa can't possibly talk about this at home. Papa won't let your mom know."
Evan's forehead frowned after hearing the father's words. He still can't guess what the papa's words mean.
"What do you mean, Pa?"
Papa Jimmy took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. His face looks very tired. Papa Jimmy even rubbed his face harshly before explaining what he meant to the son.

Like being struck by lightning, Evan's world seemed to collapse. His breath felt choked. His hands and feet felt limp without bones. Both his eyes and mouth grew so surprised.
"W-what is Papa talking about? Papa's kidding, right?" Evan still looked in shock. He hoped that what the father said was not true.
But hope is only hope. Papa Jimmy shook his head. "No, Van. Papa said the truth. Your mother is sick with cancer. Actually, your mama's sick is still early. The doctor said the chances of recovery were still quite high. But, your mother does not want to do the treatment. He doesn't want to take any medicine." Papa Jimmy let out a heavy sigh and exhaled slowly.
Again, Evan was slapped. He did not expect that his mother would not do any treatment either.
"Why did it get like that, Pa? What the hell is going on?"
Papa Jimmy looked at the face of his son with his own eyes. After that, Jimmy's dad started telling stories.
"Initially, Papa didn't know your mom was sick either, Van. At the time, Papa was in Singapore for almost a month. Your mother was originally there. However, finally your mother returned to Indonesia first. At that time, maybe your mom already felt something on her body. However, he did not say it to Papa."
"That time, Papa came home from Singapore and did not tell your mother. Papa wants to surprise. Papa returned home from the airport. However, your mother was not at home. Papa asked the man in the house where your mother was, they didn't know it either."
"Since that time, Papa began to suspect that something was hidden by your mother. At first, Papa had strange thoughts. However, after Papa decided to follow your mother, Papa finally knew if she was sick. From that moment on, your mama started telling me about her illness."
Evan was silent. He felt very guilty to his parents. Living away from the parents and not knowing their circumstances, really makes Evan feel useless.
