The marriage, like a great burden to Yazid, has now been going on for two months. The days went on without any happiness he could feel. Unlike Mita who continues to fight for the heart of her husband. Never complained once all the fatigue in his body just ended with insults without praise. Sometimes Mita can only cry in her sleep at night. Yazid was cold and indifferent to her. And Mita realized this was all going to happen, because Yazid had rejected the marriage from the beginning.
"Mit, is your body really skinny, son?" ask Imah the mama when that afternoon Mita visited her parents' house with a cake in her hand that she bought.
Instead of answering, Mita just smiled and chose to embrace the body of the mother. For a moment he closed his eyes as if he wanted to drop a tear in that embrace. However, Mita tried to hold him back. Maybe he used to be a very spoiled and whiny kid. But he must not show this moment to his parents. Enough for the grandmother-in-law Mita poured out her heart.
He feared that his parents would be angry if Mita was treated improperly by Yazid and divorce became their verdict. No, Mita doesn't want a divorce. He swore he would marry once in a lifetime no matter what.
"We brought papah's favorite cake. Let Mita prepare for a moment, Pah?" the woman went into the kitchen leaving her parents.
Mita did divide her time today by visiting her parents first and then to the office to deliver lunch for her husband. Seeing the attitude of the children of both parents Mita just look at each other without daring to comment anything. They don't want to interfere with their child's marriage. And after enjoying a short time with both parents, this is where Mita is currently. Yazid's office, he was standing right in front of the door of the husband's room.
The sound of laughter rang out from within, Mita frowned deeply and heard what they were talking about.
"What the hell are you, Zid? That's your wife. You're the one who agreed to marry her. Is that what it is now?" chirping Nia loudly.
"Emang is it? What the hell do you know? Most just open the thighs of women now. Different from you, Nia. Fortunately you're my best friend." a joke that was spoken just like that from Yazid's lips really felt so hard hit Mita's chest when she heard it. Even he was holding his chest at this moment.
"I went home first. Nih eat up and do not forget at the well-placed convenience. Ntar caught your wife out of you at the granny's omelin." Nia moved from her seat and Mita could see from the door opening of Yazid's study.
"Thanks, yeah Nia. You are willing every day to bring me the food I ask." said Yazid patted his best friend on the shoulder. She just smiled without saying anything.
Nia's departure from the room makes Mita out of hiding after being in a sense of security. He looked at Nia's back who was away. He ate lunch for his husband.
"It turns out my struggle so far has had absolutely no results." Mita stepped away with the constant abstinence she carried in her hands. Mita walked over without looking at anyone who saw her. Even in the office, everyone knows who he is. Mita doesn't care anymore. He drove home and threw the lunch into the trash he was passing by.
Tears fell on his cheeks. Mita doesn't want to go home right now. He wants to calm his mind. I don't know what path he should take right now. Seeing the struggle that is very tiring Mita felt in fact did not produce the slightest results. Sympathy from Yazid he did not even get.
While in his study, Yazid was seen sitting in a work chair while staring at the clock in his hand. The break time is almost over, shouldn't Mita have arrived?
"Where is he? What makes a mess at home again?" muttered Yazid shook his head dizzy.
At a place practicing archery, Mita seemed to stand alone with an old grandmother who looked fresh. Both of them were focused on his goal in front for his arrow.
"I'm so tired, Grandma" Mita said at the time.
Intention to calm down, he still had to involve the old woman to be his friend. Mita is very comfortable with her grandmother.
"Everything is nothing instant Mita. Grandma knows how you feel. But that's the goal you want to achieve. Do you want to just give up? If grandma was in your position maybe one week Grandma has raised her hand. Yazid is not the best man to fight with. Even you are a very good woman, Mit. Grandma's lucky granddaughter got a wife like you." at length Fena said what she thought was right and deserved to say.
Although Yazid was his own grandson, he did not justify Yazid's treatment of Mita all this time. Even he really does not like the son-in-law who often defended his son.
"But my heart is steady, Grandma to Yazid's brother. That's why I don't give up. And this time I want to be at this point to take a short break from my tired, Grandma." Mita releases her arrow at a more distant target.
Seeing Mita's archery at the outer target point made Fena's forehead constrict. Does that mean giving up?
"You mean, Mit?" Fena lowered the bow in hand and looked at Mita fixedly.
"I want to free Brother Yazid at this time. And I want to study independently outside, Grandma. I also want to be like Nia who is a career and versatile woman. Maybe that way I'm much more looked at by my husband, Grandma."
The grandmother gave a rough sigh. Although it sounds scary, but he still supports what is Mita's decision. While not doing anything bad.
"Grandma believes in you, Mit. You must have got what you wanted. Always remember your position as a wife. No matter how you're outside your husband's name you bring." Mita clasped Fena's grandmother's hand and smiled.
That day the two decided to go home with their respective vehicles.Fena certainly in between with the driver back home. The two parted while hugging tightly. Until the afternoon came Mita was enjoying her time to bathe with the aroma of therapy in the room. Even Yazid's return from the office was not welcomed at that time.
The atmosphere of the house was silent as Yazid stepped in. The first thing he saw was a quiet kitchen. The dining table is empty. There was a sigh of relief in his body when he did not see the food presented. The ritual he always does is to go to the kitchen and dining table to make sure the worst food he will get tonight. And at this time apparently there was nothing that required her drama to vomit again.
"Thank God it's safe. But what's up with him? Is he sick?" he murmured in his heart to think about Mita because since this afternoon the wife also did not come to the office and brought lunch for him.
