Combat Emperor: Zhang Yu's Journey

Combat Emperor: Zhang Yu's Journey
Chapters... 176: The Journey Home

A week had already passed since the attacks the Spirit Palace people had made. Even so the post-fight atmosphere could really still be felt in every corner of the Xiao Clan territory.

Moreover along with that day the Xiao Clan had lost quite an important figure. Xiao Lang, the patriarch of the clan.

Although they strongly condemn the betrayal committed. But it did not change the fact that Xiao Lang had once been the patriarch of the clan and was among the people who were quite respected by many.

"Xiao Lang ...." Xiao Nie muttered as he stared at the tombstone before him. It was also seen that his eyes were glazed with glass when he imagined the face of his eldest son.

Despite the disappointment felt at this moment, Xiao Lang was still his son. Xiao Nie only regretted why he did all that. Why did he cooperate with the enemy to attack the clan. Now he is even placed in a place far from the tomb of honor, a place that should be his final resting place like the previous patriarchs. However, due to his mistake, the Klan punished him.

"Dad,"

Xiao Nie slowly raised his head when he heard a voice. Looking at Xiao Mei, Zhang Yu and Xuan Yin were coming together.

"I only saw him for a moment," Xiao Nie said then immediately twisted his body away. He paused after a few steps before saying to Xiao Mei.

"He betrayed the Klan. This place is a place that deserves it." After saying that Xiao Nie stepped away without turning his head.

His attitude really looks like he doesn't care. But Xiao Mei knew her father very well. That cold attitude was just a wall he had created to cover up his grief.

However, a father may not care about his child. Even how bad the child is, a father cannot possibly have more hatred than his affection.

"Mother, ...."

"Mom wants to be here for a minute. You can go back first."

Zhang Yu looked at Xuan Yin. Instantly he found out that his mother had something to convey to Xiao Lang. They won't bother you much longer and decide to leave from there.

...

In the main residence, Xiao Nie's residence.

After returning to his residence Zhang Yu went to find his grandfather to convey something.

It was his plan long ago, which was to bring his mother back to the Zhang Clan to meet his father. However, when he searched his grandfather's room, Zhang Yu could not find his whereabouts.

"Where did grandpa go?" muttered Zhang Yu. When he wanted to turn around looking elsewhere, Xiao Nie turned out to be standing at the end of the hallway while watching him.

"What's wrong?" ask the old man.

Zhang Yu laughed as he recalled what he was thinking in his head. Thinking his grandfather was still so late in grief that he made a decision he might regret.

But that's not true at all. Zhang Yu shook his head as he walked up to him.

"There's something I want to say."

For a moment Xiao Nie raised his eyebrows then nodded his head.

"I know what you want to say" he said, which surprised Zhang Yu.

"Your mother said it a few times while you were still at the ancestral altar. He said if you want to bring him back to the Zhang Clan to meet your father." Xiao Nie smiled wryly as he recalled how he had opposed the relationship between Xiao Mei back then. It even threatened to attack the Zhang Clan so Xiao Mei resignedly surrendered herself and accepted her punishment.

Really Xiao Nie felt guilty for everything that had happened.

"Go away. Take your mother away to see your father."

Zhang Yu welcomed this with pleasure.

Xiao Nie again said, "Don't forget to return once you guys get there. No need to rush, but not for too long. Understood?"

"Haha ... I understand grandpa. I can't possibly forget Ancestor Xiao Mu's message to guard the Xiao Clan."

Zhang Yu said goodbye and then left. But he again stopped when Xiao Nie called out to him.

"Is there anything you want to say, Grandpa?" zhang Yu asked to see the unease on his grandfather's face.

"One more time, please say sorry to your father. Grandpa was really sorry and felt guilty for her."

Zhang Yu thought there was one other thing that was very important. But it turns out his grandfather just wanted to leave an apology for his father.

"I'm going to convey my grandfather's apology to my father. Grandpa don't feel guilty all the time. After all now grandfather had a different view. I'm sure you understand why Grandpa did it."

"Thank God if so," Xiao Nie's spirit became even more relieved.

Zhang Yu returned to his residence to prepare. The next day was with his mother as well as Xuan Yin and among the few people, they used a special token to activate the teleportation portal leaving the domain of the Xiao Clan.

"Cousin, don't forget to come back. We're all waiting for you!" said Xiao Yuwen.

Xiao Yujin did not want to miss and exclaimed as he waved his hand. "Don't go too long. Remember to come back because this is your home."

Zhang Yu nodded as he waved his hand before his body disappeared into the light of the teleportation portal.

Wush...

The instant the teleportation portal vanished from the presence of the few Xiao Clan people who were there. Yet at the same time in the southern mountainous region, Dou Xi City. The same place where Zhang Yu back then entered the domain with Xiao Yujin.

"..."

"What's the matter, mom?" zhang Yu asked looking at the puzzled expression Xiao Mei showed.

"Eitherway. Maybe it's because mom just came back out after decades in the domain. I feel like I'm in a completely different world" she explained.

Zhang Yu and Xuan Yin looked at each other. At that moment they were smiling too.

"Auntie, we will reach Qian Gu City within fifteen days."

"really?" Xiao Mei was silent for a moment before touching her chin. "What's the fastest time to get there?"

"No. We could have come on a ten-day trip but not rested at all. At the latest we arrive at Qian Gu City in fifteen days," Xuan Yin explained.

Hearing this Xiao Mei nodded her head. He became even more impatient after leaving the domain. Perhaps it was because the time to meet Zhang Long was so close that it made him enthusiastic.

They also started the journey. From Dou Xi City to Dou Ha City, then to Dou Yan City and reach the border within six days.

If previously Zhang Yu had to travel far from Nuli City to Dou Yan City, then, now there was no need anymore because it could use the ship utilizing the flow of the red river which would later directly take them to the border of Heishan City and Qian Gu City.

"It just so happens that we came right when the ship just stopped by. There will be plenty of empty rooms for a place to rest."

Xuan Yin and Xiao Mei simply followed where Zhang Yu was stepping. They immediately boarded once most of the newly arrived passengers in Dou Yan City descended.

At that moment there was a group of passengers descending in such a hurry that one man almost nudged Xuan Yin and Xiao Mei. But Zhang Yu immediately put on a body making the man's body restrained by it.

"Be careful," Zhang Yu said as he patted her on the shoulder.

Zhang Yu thought this man would at least apologize. But not only did he not apologize, the man looked at him as if he wanted to fight with him. Even as he started to step away, his eyes still seemed to challenge him.

"You okay?" asked Xuan Yin.

"I'm fine." Because from the beginning did not intend to dispute this matter Zhang Yu was also unwilling to take a dizzy. He intended to immediately find a room and rest, but when he would step his gaze accidentally fixed on the belt lying between his legs.

Especially when he saw the pattern on it that immediately made his eyes round.

"..."

Without saying much Zhang Yu took the belt while trying to find the man who had previously left. Unfortunately the man was no longer visible so Zhang Yu decided to keep the belt before boarding the ship.
