The Unforgettable Story

The Unforgettable Story
Section 40

The room was dark. No sign of light or windows. The wall is not felt either. Blank. After taking a few steps back, what he was looking for was finally found. Walls. Cold but sturdy enough to lean. With a hand fumbling through the wall, the sought-after switch was found. Lights with dazzling rays lit up so that the contents of the room were clearly visible.

Miles nearly vomited to see a thick, red liquid on the floor in front of him. The smell of blood that he had not previously smelled, now stung his sense of smell. Vision's circling. He immediately searched the bathroom. There he found the body of his wife who had stiffened. With his hand he closed his mouth, to hold himself back from vomiting.

He whispers a name that always manages to calm him down and chase away his nightmares. Juliett's.

His eyes opened and moved wildly. Breath hunting. Miles turned on the light on the small table beside him. He sighed in relief seeing her in his room. It was all just a nightmare. He touched his forehead that was soaked in sweat. The clock above the nightstand indicates that it is still five in the morning. Not wanting to have any more nightmares, she forced herself to stand up and go into the bathroom.

Within thirty minutes, he was well dressed. Satisfied looking at his reflection in the mirror, he walked out of the clothing room. He went back into the bathroom to pick up his watch which was on top of the toilet tank. The view is then directed at the line of facial, body, and hair products that are on the counter near the sink. Also true! Why had he not thought about that before? He looked in the mirror and smiled at himself. A week later he had nightmares, and he was finally able to smile.

The phone in his hand shook. He saw the name on the screen. His forehead wrinkled. He touched his phone screen and greeted the man who called him.

“Alastair, I'm about to finish dealing with an emergency in the hospital. Can you stop by before you go to the office? I won't be in the hospital until later in the afternoon. And I know your schedule must be packed with your wife's funeral preparations.” said her personal doctor.

“Is this about my lab results?” ask Miles, expectantly.

“Iya.” Reply Pranaja quickly. Miles breathed a sigh of relief.

“Good. In an hour I arrive.” Miles went down the stairs and greeted Wanda who was walking past him.

“I wait in my room.” Pranaja ended their phone relationship.

Breakfast was available at the dinner table. Devouringly, he spent three portions of pancakes with blueberry jam. The taste of the jam reminded him of Juliett. Again he smiled. After breakfast, he left the house. Markus was ready to wait in his car. Miles gets in the car, the man closes the door for him.

“We go to the hospital.” Miles said as soon as Markus put his seatbelt on.

“Good, Sir.” said the man according to.

Tomorrow is his wife's funeral. The family will start arriving that afternoon. He doesn't want to meet them. Charles' wife will make sure they are well served. He will be calmer if he continues to work as usual. But before going to his office, there are important things that need to be taken from the hospital.

As per his words on the phone, Pranaja had been waiting in his room. A nurse led him inside and left them alone in the room. Miles sat across from his personal doctor. A neat work desk was between them. The man was staring seriously at the paper before him.

“No need to find the right sentence to convey it, Pranaja. Honest is better. Nothing will surprise me anymore.” said Miles impatiently.

“I know.” Pranaja put the paper down and smiled at Miles. “So I met John who just helped deliver one of his patients. He helped me read the results of this lab.”

“Good.” Pranaja took a breath. “There's nothing you need to worry about, Al. You have healthy seeds. Likewise with your other reproductive organs.”

“No way.” said Miles slowly. He nodded in disbelief.

“This is the lab results. You can consult another doctor for a second opinion.” Pranaja gave him advice. Miles frowned as he accepted the paper.

“Twenty years, Pranaja. Twenty years I've tried it with Angelica. How could we not also have children?”

“Then most likely the problem is with your wife. But we can't do anything now. Your wife has died.” Pranaja inserted Miles's internal body scan and the entire lab examination into a large envelope and gave it to him.

“My wife's family won't agree to another check.” Miles received the large envelope with no spirit at all.

“At least you get the answer to the mystery in your marriage problems. You're not the problem. If you are still interested in having offspring, you can marry another woman and try it again.” said the man tried to cheer her up.

“Then went through the same process again? No, Pranaja. It's enough that for twenty years I've faced that hell. No more.” Miles shook his head.

“All is up to you, Al. I also don't want to accept you in my room just to take care of your little bruises and cuts.” Pranaja joked. Miles laughed a little.

“Thank you, Pranaja. I have to go now.” Miles stood up and extended his hand.

“Jaga your health.” Pranaja shook Miles' hand and they smiled at each other. “And let me say this. After the hell you experienced with Angelica, you deserve to live happily.”

The answer has been one of the questions so far. He's not barren. She's indisposed. He can have children if he wants. But it's hard to accept that fact after years of believing she's the source of the problems in their marriage. Pranaja wouldn't carelessly tell the lab results to him. Moreover, he has also consulted with an obstetrician. He must have told her the truth.

Miles looked at the envelope he had in his hand. He approached the scanner near his desk. The lab results were scanned and sent to Reynand by email. He asked her to find out the meaning of all the terms on the paper. The reply came an hour later. The explanation is short and concise. Just like Pranaja said. He has healthy seeds and his reproductive organs are functioning properly.

“Reynand, you need to consider becoming a doctor. From your email, you sound very expert with the field.” type Miles in his email for the head of the IT section. Reynand simply replied to her by sending a picture of a man pouting. Miles laughed a little. That guy is funny.

There's something he can't understand here. If he is not barren, why can he and his wife not have children? Twenty years they have never used a protector when having sex. Angelica didn't take the pill either. Where is their mistake? He was sure that they had done everything right.

Juliett's. They also do not use protective gear during intercourse. Three days together, they had sex over and over again until he stopped counting. What about that woman now? Did she also not experience the impact of the outcome of their relationship? But how did he find out? He had no phone number, email address, or any information about him. The woman did not allow him to know her further.
