The Unforgettable Story
Section 2

The taxi turned to the right so Kirana could no longer see it. But he was still standing on the spot looking towards the last time the car was. He sighed loudly. Time passes so fast. Two days together have passed. Ratri and his family went to Bali and he is alone now.

“Sometimes I don't understand this. How can you two be brothers.” said a man from behind Kirana. She smiled a little.

“Trust. We are siblings.” Kirana said without turning her head.

Ratri is three years older than him. Although they are siblings, they are physically very different. Ratri gets all the good physical traits from their mother. Exotic dark skin, large eyes with thick and long plump eyelashes, heart-shaped face, perfectly formed nose, thin red lips, long, dense straight hair, his height is average so it is not difficult for him to get a taller man. On the other hand, Kirana gets all her physical traits from their father.

His skin was too white to even tend to be pale, his eyes were normal size with thin eyelashes, his face was oval shaped making him look like a child, his nose was pug, his pale red lips were too big, he said, the dense hair is difficult to set and the spiral on the ends cannot be tidied up. The most difficult part was her body being too tall. One hundred and seventy-five inches is enough to keep a lot of men away from him.

Therefore he likes to be among tall people. Dexter, the man standing by his side, was one of them. Standing nearby made him feel comfortable. He did not hesitate to be weak and fragile when he was with her. Enjoy each time his best friend embraces him or simply put his head on the man's shoulder as they sit close together. Her best friend also likes to pamper or treat her like her own sister. Even though they are the same age.

But what Dexter meant was not about their physical differences. Ratri and Kirana are also very different in terms of personality. Ratri is so confident and has many friends. But he was very picky in determining who could be his best friend. Only those who brought benefits to him could be close to him. If you want something, you will do anything to have it. Sometimes he doesn't care if it belongs to someone else. He is smart and good at convincing people. One of the reasons he was so successful as head of public relations at his office.

Instead, Kirana is shy and has only a few close friends. He takes too much consideration every time he decides on something, including for something he really wants. He also relented too often and thought more about the interests of others than his own. The latter is often used by Ratri. Although not as smart as her sister, Kirana is very sensitive to opportunities and has been successful several times in the project of increasing sales of the company's products where she works. It took time for him to get a position as head of marketing. But in the end, he managed to get the position.

“He went to Bali for a vacation on the day his parents had just been buried? Don't you think that's an amazing thing? Is he not at all grieving the departure of Om and Auntie?” There was sarcasm in the voice of his friend.

“Dexter, of course he's grieving. But he was right. Life must continue. There is nothing wrong with them bringing their children to enjoy Bali while they are here in Indonesia.” Kirana felt obliged to defend her sister.

“Eleven years he never came home and he only accompanied you for two days? Ki, that's outrageous. He's your brother, not your acquaintance. The one who just died was both his parents, not the person he just knew yesterday afternoon.” Dexter protest.

“Dex,”

Until now he still did not understand why Dexter was so dislikeful of Ratri. He could not remember when the two of them hated each other. Maybe since they were kids. Every time they spoke, it would definitely end in a fierce fight. Since none of them would budge, there must be someone to break up. Kirana is one of the people who often mediates them.

“I know you mean well. But so does Ratri.” Kirana touched a friend's upper arm since her childhood. “One more time, I thank you for your help.”

“Not a big problem, Ki. Even though the money can't get Om and Aunt back, I'm glad we can get the amount you want. The company was obliged to bear the mistakes of the truck drivers they hired. I'm still wondering if he's okay or if they've fired him.”

“And it wouldn't have happened without your help.” Kirana smiled slightly. “I'm so tired. See you tomorrow, huh?”

“Are you hungry? My wife cooks your favorite food. How about you have dinner with us and rest?” Dexter wrapped his arm around Kirana's shoulder.

“My friends must have left a lot of food in the fridge. I won't be short of food for weeks. I want to sleep, Dex. That's all I need.” reject Kirana smooth.

“Good.” He relented. Kirana was grateful in her heart for not having to argue at length with her best friend this time. “See you tomorrow.”

Kirana went inside the house and locked the door. As he was about to close the window curtain beside the door, he saw Dexter closing the gate. He touched the window, hoping he could actually touch it through it. The man was his first love. They are always one class in elementary school to public high school. Like conjoined twins, they are inseparable.

At first he thought that the man had the same feelings as him. Until finally he introduced a student from another class as his girlfriend. He was heartbroken for the first time. Like any teenager who is heartbroken at his age, he is so dramatic and sentimental that he promises never to fall in love again or let a man break his heart again. Lifetime time.

Dexter breaks up with his girlfriend and gets into a relationship with the girl from his college. But their relationship ended before graduation. Then she got acquainted with the sister of one of her co-workers three years ago. Two years later, they got married. His wife is now pregnant with their first child. She was very nice and treated him like an old friend. She also did not look jealous of her closeness to her husband. Very rare thing.
