The Unforgettable Story

The Unforgettable Story
Section 15

Quickly he brushed the sound off his head. He looked back at the glass, and in one gulp he drank the red wine. He raised his hand attracting the attention of a servant who was standing not far from him. Quickly, the man came closer to his desk. A smile adorned his face.

“Are you ready to order, Sir?” he asked politely while taking out a note.

“Iya. But first I need water.” Miles showed me his empty glass. “For dinner, I ordered fettuccine prawn tomato sauce. I also want beef lasagna but prepare it after I finish eating fettuccine earlier.”

“Good, Sir.” He wrote something on his note.

“Don't forget the water I asked for.” Miles reminded.

“I'll drop off soon, Sir.” As the man left, Miles looked at the window. The night is still long to enjoy more than a glass of wine. He would order again, but he had to eat first.

Sensing someone was looking at him, Miles raised his head. The woman he had been watching was now staring at him. He could see that the woman had not expected to be caught off guard. Not wanting to make the woman feel uncomfortable, she smiled. Unexpectedly, the woman returned her smile.

Suddenly the moment ended because a waiter brought drinks to the woman's table. He turned his head towards the man and from the movement of his mouth he thanked him in English. When the waiter left his desk Miles hoped he would look back at him. Butno. The woman looked around but dodged looking towards him. Okay. So he just wanted to end the moment? Doesn't matter.

The waiter came back and brought a glass of water for him. He said his order food will be delivered soon. Miles did not know what prompted him to say that but he did not have time to prevent it.

“I'll move to the table of the woman in the red dress. Take my food there and put the bill on my bill.” Miles said. The waiter looked at the table he pointed at and then looked back at him.

“Good, Mr.” he said with a smile, no questions asked.

What the hell is he thinking? What if the woman doesn't come alone? What if her friend comes later? Just sec. If he has an appointment with someone, why did he order his drink? When viewed from what he said to the waiter, it seemed like he had also ordered his food. If he didn't come alone, why didn't he wait for his friend before ordering? Only if he came to this restaurant alone would it be natural for him to order without waiting, just like Miles did.

Not a big deal. Since he is alone and has no friends to talk to, there is no harm in talking to new people. They were in a public place, nothing would have happened had the lady friend appeared. They just talk. But he waited for a while, who knew that someone had come to the woman.

He ventured to greet the woman, when no one else appeared. The woman's face turned tense as she approached. Miles smiled. The woman must have known she was walking towards her place, even though she was not looking at her.

“Hello.” greet Miles as soon as he stands in front of her.

The woman raised her head and smiled. Miles' heart almost stopped. She's so pretty. Not the polished beauty he used to see in women trying to get close to him. It was true that she wore complete makeup, but it was unable to hide her natural beauty. Miles, you're playing with fire. And you know it.

“Hello.” reply. The woman's voice was so soft. Gives calmness and warmth to his chest.

“Are you alone? Sorry, I didn't mean to be presumptuous. A woman as beautiful as you can't possibly come here alone. But,” said Miles friendly.

“Unfortunately, your guess is correct.” The woman laughed a little. His voice was like heaven in his ears.

“I also came here myself. Can I join you?” ask Miles expectantly.

“Of course. Please.” He let Miles sit in the seat opposite him.

The woman did not stop giving him surprises. After avoiding his gaze, he allowed her to sit down with him? Attractively. He thought the woman was shy. Apparently the assumption is wrong. A beautiful, friendly, and confident woman seems to attract the attention of men, including her own.

“No. He said the food here is very good, I want to try it.” He smiled again.

“His word? You're not Singaporean?” ask Miles. From his accent, he uses American style, it is difficult to know his country of origin. He was careful not to give the impression of being too curious.

“No. I'm on vacation here. You stay here?” He crossed his arms on the table.

“No. I'm also on vacation.” Miles replied.

He frowned as the woman glanced towards his right hand then towards his left. What did the woman see from her hands? Does he want to know if he likes cleanliness or not? Fortunately, he cut his nails regularly.

“Is from the information you got, they also inform you what food is the most delicious here?” She imitated her style by crossing both hands on the table.

“Iya. But I'm not going to follow that advice. Food depends on the taste of each person. What they call good, is not necessarily good for me. I chose to try my own favorite food.” he replied.

Smart and opinionated woman. A combination that he rarely met. People who know him prefer to try all the information they receive about a restaurant and first try foods that get a high rating. But not with that woman. He chose to order his favorite food rather than what the information he got suggested.

“True also.” Miles laughed a little. “Oh, yes. My name,”

“Don't tell me your real name.” cut the woman out quickly. “Quite your favorite name. Sorry, but I feel uncomfortable sharing personal information to people I don't know.”

“Do I have the look of a planning killer? Is that what you're afraid of?” canda Miles's. The woman smiled.

“Most of the planning killers are people who are well known and have no criminal record. So, yeah. You have that look.” he concluded.

“Reperent reasons.” Miles agreed.

“My name is Juliett, with two letters t.” The woman introduced herself first. Miles smiled meaningfully. So, this is a game. Okay. He'll follow the rules of the game.

“Congratulations, Juliett. You have found Romeomu.” Goda Miles. Juliett laughed. Miles liked the sound of his laughter just as much as he liked his little laugh. Immediately.

Their conversation stopped for a moment. Their food comes at the same time. Miles looked at the menu the woman had chosen. Spaghetti meatballs and roasted chicken wings in large portions. Juliett laughing. Will there be any surprises after this? This was the first time he had seen a beautiful woman order a lot of food. Most surprisingly, his body was slim. Does he like to eat or after this he will spit out all his food to stay slim?

A waiter came to ask if they wanted to add to the order, and they said no. Then he filled Miles' glass with his permission.

“You stayed here?” ask Juliett after the waiter left. Miles nodded. “Just right the waiter was so considerate.”

“Gregory, owner of this hotel, one of my good friends.” Miles said honestly.

“Wow! You are so lucky!” said surprised. You surprised me even more.
